Blitzway Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Vehicles

I was able to recently acquire both the Blitzway 1984 Ecto-1 & the Afterlife Ecto-1 vehicles in brand new from the factory, never opened condition. My question now becomes, would anybody open either one to display, or keep them both in their factory sealed state to see if the value continues to increase? I know that the Afterlife Ecto-1 can still be purchased new from Bigbadtoystore, but eventually these will sell out, and I would have to imagine that their value will go up. Having seen numerous videos online for both....they are beautiful pieces and I really don't know if I can go without displaying 1 of them, but 10-15 years from now, in an unopened condition, they could be worth a small fortune and I'd kick myself to think that I could have left them both that way.

Display them, display them now. (y) (y) (y)

If you wanna invest money there's a million better ways to make money. Open them bad boys and get them on display.:love::love::love::love::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Then post pictures immediately

Especially the original 1984 version. I'm so jealous  :(:(
Yeah, this was a VERY lucky find. Thought I had only found the 1984, and then the guy asked if I'd be interested in the Afterlife too. Now all that is left is to wait to get served with divorce papers!!:lol:

Wives come and go, that's the plain truth of it. Props are forever.

Here's a good trick. Put out the new prop, but put it behind some other props. She won't notice because she can't remember all your props. Then be working on "rearranging" some props when she comes in the room. Ask her to hand you the new prop. She'll never suspect that you're drawing her attention to a new prop. She'll assume it's been there forever. Trust me, I did this several times before I felt bad and finally confessed to her that I'd done it.

We need a thread for S.O. prop stories! First person with a good partner prop story to share should start it!

I may just have to give that a try. She is pretty attentive to what I have, so this could present a definite challenge.

Uh yeah, even my cats would notice a new Blitzway ECTO-1! You're cooked, pal. :D

My best approach is to have a story ready for where the money came from: "The Etsy store did really well this month!"

Exactly! The Ecto is not a small piece that can just be hid in a corner. She has a mental inventory of what I have, so I can't even attempt to get away with saying that I let a few things go to help fund the Ecto vehicles. May have to resort to buying some shiney jewelry to smooth things over!!:)

Or dump her. Simple plan, easy to remember. (y)

You're going to have to hide these in the attic/basement/hole in the backyard for a few years. Then bring them out and put them on display. When the wife says "When did you get these?!" You say "What? I've had these for years!"

The best lies are buried in truth. (y)

I could pull a John Wick and encase them in cement in the basement to be uncovered when the time is right!!
