Blade Runner Inspired Office Build: Deckard's Apartment

Looks great. Are you planning on painting the ceiling to match the walls?
The ceiling in his apartment is plain and a lighter shade than the walls. My ceiling was originally white. I painted it a lighter 'beige' color than the walls when laying down the base coat before I did the weathering.

I am speechless and humbled by your build. What an incredible journey this thread was. I kept seeing it pop at the top and now I see why!

Next up is this little light up display of various glass/crystal pieces.

Oh good, you found these elsewhere. I was thinking to myself 'what can't this guy do!? After all this master craftsmanship, if this guy also just cracks out a foundry and starts glassblowing all his own work I am hanging up my hat!'
In all seriousness, I just wanted to see if it would look good enough to invest in something more permanent.
What a great touch! I would love to know if you find a solution, I have had a few projects in the past that could use a little extra haze and I never found what I was looking for!

This is definitely build of the year, you basically did an entire interior design replica, just incredible!

Let's talk about Deckard's lounge chair!

So this one was a bit tricky. I searched for MONTHS trying to find the perfect chair that would replicate Deckard's in terms of style and general vibe, yet be small enough to fit in the tiny space available.
The original chair I wanted had the perfect vibe, but after ordering it TWICE from China (by cargo ship), it never arrived and I resigned to the fact that the company was a scam. Luckily my credit card company immediately reimbursed me and did a chargeback.
This is what I had originally wanted. The site is now shut down so it looks like I wasn't the only one getting scammed.

It ended up turning out to be a positive thing because the measurements of the chair suggested it would be a bit too big for my office, so I'm glad I ended up not getting it. The bad news is that color/material is what I based my decision for the lighted ottoman/side table on so now they don't match. Oh well, something to work on later.

So back to the drawing board! There were several contenders that had elements of what I wanted but nothing perfect. Right style, wrong color. Right color, wrong size, etc.

I ended up settling on this one for a number of reasons.
1. It's leather so it dresses up the office a bit, and has a shine to it that kind of replicates the sheen of Deckard's chair.
2. it has the horizontal channels and the arched back/arms, giving it the right look and providing a place to run the wire for the light without damaging the chair.
3. it's the perfect size for the space I have.

The chair arrived today and it fits perfectly in the corner! I was able to attach the back light by using some L bracket I had lying around. It just press fits into the channel in the back to hold it in place, and the wire tucks in nicely. All in all I'm pleased with the decision.

Will the moisture of any haze machine or smoke of any machine damage the props, wall tiles, etc. over time?

That is one of the concerns with using any kind of oil based fluid. Just like people who vape in their house, a film eventually builds up on things.
I think with a water based solution, and used very sparingly for photos here and there, it'll be ok.

Absolutely beautiful rendition of Memories of Green. One of my favorite film pieces of all time. Out of curiosity, how are you getting such good audio quality with your recording?

It's a digital piano and it's recorded directly to a wav file on a USB drive. It's a mixture of a Yamaha CFX grand piano binaural sampling and a slightly out of tune upright to give it some depth but have a bit of that signature dissonance from the soundtrack.
