I'm putting an ID in with my PKD display (instead of a plaque) and here's my attempt based off the info in this thread:

it's unfortunate that so many of the pictures in the thread of disappeared.  Suggestions/ideas?  I'm hoping to laminate sometime this week.

For real police personnel ID cards, when they retire they usually get an ID card that is marked "RETIRED" or something to that effect. They also, depending on jurisdiction, get to carry their sidearm. In fact, there was recent (2005) Federal legislation passed that now allows interstate carry of concealed firearms by both current and retired cops.

Is it possible that Deckard's ID card has the big red "X" on it to reflect his ("I was quit...") status or was he issued a new ID when he got pressganged back to service by Bryant?

Spinner 44- That would be be cool if someone did that, huh... :)

Eltee- I've thought the same thing abut the red X as well. However, you'd think that they'd wnt him to have updated license if he's gonna be blasting skinjobs in the middle of the street.

The FBI issues "retired" ID's with a big transparent red X, and I believe so does the LAPD. I am not sure the photo would stand out over the X though.

I also got the feeling Bryant was trying to keep the entire matter under wraps, so issuing Deckard a whole new ID would have gone against that. But otherwise, he'd of needed a new Id, unless ofcoarse the street cops just don't give a rip. :)

Well, Bryant was probably keeping things under wraps, but you can also figure the local cops would know of a veteran Blade Runner (if you accept that he's a human, but this opens a whole 'nother ball of wax.)

And, to not be off topic completely. Nice ID, good job.

BUMP..

Anyone have new pics to add? I picked up one of those TV's from ebay for use in our fan film. I'll have to add a big thank you to Nick for having the eagle eyes.

Here's a quick prop from Blade Runner to throw at you guys.

The lamp directly in front of Deckard is actually a sixties lamp made by Dazor Mfg. Corp.

There a few different but similar styles and colors made the same company.

There are several more styles and colors including a tall floor model but I can't seem to find the pictures.

In the film the head of the lamp was turn upside down so that large fiberglass disc faced upwards and the hole on top faced down.

Stay tuned for another lamp reveal as well a few other goodies.

Nick, I'll even go a step further - you're the INDIANA JONES of Blade Runner archeology... :D

That's a sweet find... I can only imagine what key words you use to set your automatic eBay searches... ;)

Glad, you fellas dig. I've got a few more relics to reveal at my next conference.

As fopr the lamps, they go for about 25 to 60 bucks a pop but the shipping is about 25 bucks due to the heavily wieghted base.

People must be onto this thread. Last one at auction went for over $100. Very cool find, can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeve.

Hey, any pics of his coffee maker? I read in either Sammon's book, or a ridley bio that he used Syd Mead's gun design for the coffee maker.

Any truth to this? Any pics?

Njc--------------

If I remeber right they used the gun as a phone, but I haven't seen anything in the film or in my reference that would match kinda object.

Here's what deckard's coffee pot looks like though.

Yeah, that's what I thought :D

That would make a fellow rpf members the only person to bring that particular design to life? :thumbsup

Thanks for posting the pic, by the way.
