Small update. I've been thinking a bit about how to set up the actuating hammer and decided to try doing it the way the real K pistols were supposedly done- with a solenoid (electromagnet). It's a relatively simple setup I think, using a solenoid and a capacitor hooked up to a 9v battery, which will also power the leds. (The solenoid has a small arm that "pulls" the slide forward as it gets power from the capacitor, then releases and springs back when the capacitor has been drained.) I've got some parts on order to test and if it works, I'll be modeling the interior of the gun to match the components, which will be included with the kit. (I may or may not be able to offer assembled electronics setups for those that can't solder-, but I will make a diagram showing how to hook everything up either way.)

Been doing some tests this week that didn't really go anywhere. Finding a suitable set of electronics that are small enough and will run on something like a 9V battery, isn't easy but I'm on it. Might have to design a simple fulcrum/lever with linkage for it to work but I am absolutely aiming for the slide functionality of the screen pistol. I want this to be accurate in both form and function if possible.

Small update. I'm getting close to figuring out the electronics. From here on in, I'll put most updates in the build thread instead. Threads in the junkyard disappear after a while after all, so buildup info would be lost... in... yeah you know the rest.

Bump to the top. Work is progressing on the model at a steady pace. Should not be too long before I can start a test print! I'm going to try and make the interior so that the electronics will be very easy to drop in, and the electronics will be supplied with it.

It's taken longer than I thought it would because I have discovered a few details I didn't see before (and haven't seen on any other versions) and I've tweaking back and forth constantly, as well as redoing stuff from scratch. Shouldn't be too long now though. Since I have to buy there electronics (esp the solenoids and capacitors) in bulk, I imagine this will be a one-time limited run.
