Black Widow Gun Belt, Iron Man 2

Those boots are a nice find actually!

Great find but a bit out of my price range :(

I was actually thinking of making the boots, though I've never made anything from scratch before so I don't know if starting with something like that is a good idea! :lol

Glad you like them. best I've seen so far. All the boots with straps are oddly, too plain. Now, to find a good shot of the outside of the boot. Something tells me the buckles are side release, clip type. I tried paying attention while watching and that's what I remember.

I decided to open up my card to analyze the fabric a little further. It's definitely a pretty heavy/thick material. Well relatively thick for a lycra. Maybe 1/2 mm.
The glue they used to sandwich it in the card is permanently stuck to the back of the fabric now. Making it hard to determine how much stretch this once had. :confused
Either way you can't ask for better reference to create something very accurate.

I kind of skimmed after page 2; but if the debate is still ongoing this should help.

The suit is indeed a dark blue/gray. The difference noted between the black leather bits and the suit itself is indication enough. The color correction studio responsible for the film wouldn't have the reputation they do if they made that kind of slip up with the saturation on screen. If Jon Fav wanted black suits, they would have given him a black suit.

ZD -- I've been going back and forth on the boot color, but wouldn't have thought of the PhotoShop sample trick. Clever! Still not sure what I'm actually going to do about that. It's so borderline.

I am leery of the two leather items (boots and gloves) being not the same color. It doesn't make sense as a design choice, which makes me swing back to thinking we're dealing with a trick of the light in the newest photo.

I thought so too and thought I saw a hint of blue in the gloves when watching the film again, but I have different photos that seem to confirm my theory

The gloves vs suit color and wrist stingers

Edit: My bad, got confused. Still too early and thinking through sinus meds.

The gloves and boots are definitely black.

You know, I'm wondering if the costume designers decided to make everything difficult just to watch all the cosplayers scratching their heads :lol

Hrm. The boot color does seem to reflect closer to the blue, but I'm still inclined to think it's just a slightly different black from the gloves.

And really, if we're having this much trouble, the question is whether it matters! Plus, of course, the blue cast can always be tweaked later. Especially if one is dealing with real leather (which I won't be, for ease of sewing, but we're talking hypothetical here -- and I'm certainly not going to find a midnight-blue-almost-black faux leather! *g*), in which case the best effect would probably be achieved by overdyeing black with blue leather dye.

Agreed.

This might be good to have for reference.

Really great sculpt, but it looks like the took some liberties with the boot sole being too bulky.

Actually the Hot Toys Black Widow is pretty spot on. The wedge platform boots were what was made for Scarlet Johansen along with the stunt boots that you see in the photos in this thread.

Great figure, a good reference indeed, I'm currently still working on the holster als the holsers I find (like : http://www.cobraairsoft.com/product...=4265&osCsid=d2f953057dde07f655f5fa06a2ef57bd)

They are all right leg and we need a left leg version ... anyone decided what to choose ....

Walter PPK/S is available in nice chrome finish on the web (& ebay) so for most of you that will also be an easy find (depending on where you live).

Belt is also a custom to my opinion, looks like the porsche rim but with extras so I expect a mould ...

for the costume I'm still hesitating between the lycra or other ... but definitely blueish color.

Look forword to other feedbacks / input ...

That holster is a great find. Too bad it is only in right hand and out of stock :unsure

We ended up doing a SERPA holster from Black Hawk. They don't make one for PPK/S so we just ordered the smallest they had. It isn't perfect and ultimately I think we will try to sculpt over a PPK and make a holster master to vacuform over. But for now, the SERPA will have to work.

Belt wise, we will end up having to make a master and then take a mold. Pretty sure we will use urethane for that. The other parts will be sculpted, molded and then cast, probably in resin.

The fabric we are still working on and if we figure out something good we will post it.
