Black Spiderman [Venom Suit] Costume

I've been browsing around on reputable Websites for a professional-looking Black Spiderman Suit. I was wanting one for Holloween, but it seems as if that may not happen. Nevertheless, I'm still wanting to obtain one. Does anyone know of good places (keep in mind I'm wanting the body suit, not a kit)? The best sources I've found so far is as follows:

- The Heroes Locker
- SpideyPlanet.com - Home

Feedback welcomed! Any advice is appreciated. :)

have you talked to the heroes locker... they may be able to do it in black.

I've sent them an e-mail and waiting for a reply. Honestly, that one would be my last pick out of the three because I'm not too big of a fan of the 2d printed webbing (using dye sublimation). I prefer them to be made with Urethane Webbing. We'll see how it works out. Still feeling around and seeing what's out there. Thanks for the reply.

Email Brad at: Spidey4fun his prints and workmanship is top notch, I ordered the 2d printed red/blue version with urethane spiders which I should get any day now, but he offers the full urethane webbing black suit but it's a one size made to fit a 6 feet tall person.

SpideyPlanet also offers a beautiful suit, both finished and in kit form, but remember it will cost you at least $2000, there's no cheap alternatives for a accurate looking full urethane webbing suit, I opted for the 2D for my first suit so I can see the fitting and won't be scared to wear it at most events and halloween at the price I paid.

Yeah, Brad (Spidey4Fun) sounds like a cool guy. He has replied to one of my e-mails, now I'm waiting for a second response. I'm not sure what the prices are for the dye sublimation webbing or the urethane webbed suits. Did you ever find out what the differences in costs would be? He also mentioned that over time the urethane web may peel up from use. If it only happened every once in a great while it shouldn't be that big of a deal; you could just apply loctite super glue gel and fix it with no problem.

As for SpideyPlanet- Kits cost $1000, and an already completed full-body suit is $4000. Bit of difference in cost.

Heroes Locker can do the black suit. They can also do the a Venom suit based on S3.

Oo alright. I'll ask them about it and review the pictures once more. I've also been comparing prices and the quality of different suits on each of the Websites. If another source that creates professionally designed suits comes to mind let me know. Thanks!!

I really prefer Brads suits to the Spidey Planet ones. I think the colors are much better, but thats with the red and blue ones. He can also do custom stuff, like install zippers in the wrists. He's very good to work with. I definitely want to deal with him again.

Do you have an opinion on dye sublimation webbing vs. urethane webbed suits? I wanted something as close to the real suit as possible, but if he only makes the urethane webbed for only 6' individuals then I'm out of luck. Benefits from not getting it would be perhaps less costly (I'm not sure of the prices for either, but I'm assuming they cost more) and less maintenance (urethane web peeling up from use over time). Brad has really gotten a lot of positive feedback from his customers. I'm looking forward to working with him.

I like the printed webs personally, not just for cost but it just takes the stress out of wearing the suit. I'd probably be afraid to move without popping some webs off. Never worn a rubber webbed suit though. Just wanted to get a fun costume to wear at a con and be comfortable. Printed web suits are a lot less costly too. I do like to see a well done movie Spidey with rubber webs though. I always think about how comfortable foam latex rubber webs would be.

Heres a photo of my printed suit.

I'd be a little happier if I could darken the webs a little, make them more black.

Well one person explained to me that the urethane webbing is stretchy and glued onto the lycra. "They also require a fair bit of maintenance as the webbing will come un-glued from the lycra with all the stretching that occurs when putting on and taking off the suit." I've heard that this kind of webbing can stretch to 5 times it's length and will not tear. I believe the pealing of the web is more of a long-term effect though. You'd have to wear the suit many times. It may be closer to the original suit, but you're right- it looks less comfortable. I'm starting to lean towards buying the printed webbing.

Nice pictures by the way!! I love seeing other people's suits. :)

These are examples of the ones I'm considering to get-

Sorry if I've been a little slow on the email.... this is a busy time of the year. My urethane webbing was cut to fit me, and I'm 6 foot. I would be OK for someone a little shorter.. say 5'10 but any shorter and the webbing would just be too big as would the suit. I print this style of suit 1 size, to fit the webbing and make adjustment on the legs, arms, sides where possible to fit the wearer. The printed webbing suits can be scaled to pretty much any size.

Brad.

It's perfectly fine. You already let me know it wouldn't be ready until after Halloween. With that said, I'm not in too much of a hurry to get it done. I'd say I'm ~5'7" or 5'8", so guess I'm just a little too short then. However, I'm still interested in the prices and so forth. I just checked out your email and am getting ready to reply with the details of which suit I'd like. Thanks for all your help this far. :)
