I noticed a few small differences between my original run trooper and some newer copies. It doesn’t come across as well in the pictures as it does in person, but the plastic has a pretty visible purple tint to it compared to the original run. I think the reason for that is to help prevent any yellowing from being too visible. When I’m working with epoxy, I will use a few drops of violet for that exact same reason. The purple tint isn’t much of an issue unless you’ve got it next to something else white. It may be pretty apparent if it’s displayed right next to another trooper or on armor.

The other small change I noticed was, if I’m not mistaken, these used to come in three parts. The front, back, and dome. Wrapped in plastic. The new box had the front and back already connected, with only the dome being separated. They were wrapped in a very heavy paper. Probably not interesting to most but I do find it intriguing picking up on the small things Hasbro changes here and there between their different runs.

Little annoying change. Makes it harder to strip it apart since the front to back clips are hellspawn (needed to remove the nose holder thingy on mine since otherwise it wouldn't fit, its the only one that needs that patchery)

I think my old one had a slight purple tint. Perhaps it is stronger now, or has always been stronger in some batches than others.

Same here. I have one I purchased years ago, and a brand new one. Both have a purple tint. I wish I had gotten the whiter one.

Interestingly, my Hasbro Clone Trooper and Scout Trooper helmets look much whiter next to the Storm Trooper.

Black Series into (my take on) the Mimban Trooper. I removed the black rubber band from the BS, and also filled in the speaker vents and battery door seams. I’ve added some “clean” photos as well as the final “weathered” finish. The weathering was inspired by the Tank Trooper concept art done by Sam Williams. I didn’t want to go with the traditional caked on mud look folks go with on the mimbys.

I don’t recall who made the model for the shield, but if I ever do another one of these I’m planning to model a new shield myself. This one had some fit and asymmetry issues.

Working on redoing the office and got this when I ordered my new desk. Was worried the Vader wouldn't fit with the stand, let alone the lightsaber, but it fit! It's not enclosed, so I still need to dust, but the lights are integrated and one less thing to hassle with.

On Amazon it goes by "Floor Lamp Glass Display Shelf with Remote" and comes in 3 faux-wood colors and is 15.35x15.35". I got black but it has a slight texture. The BF/CM deal was pretty cheap, but the price seems to have shot up.

Wish it came enclosed with a door. I hate dust, but the size and lights got me.

Gonna see what my options are this weekend. This thing is made of mostly MDF, so magnet mounting is out. It's also not super duper durable like a metal rack of a moducase, so I would need a somewhat thin piece of acrylic.
