Yep, these shots with the natural light makes for a different shade of course. Looking very good(y)

Here we go...

Ha!

Not 30 minutes later; knock on the door!

Of course, the weather here today is WET. Wet, wet wet...

But I did spray a sample. It is drying now, but suffice to say, I am happy...
I’ve struggled all week with the cold.. today is in the 40s tomorrow is 55 but rain… great

Funny - its nearly the same color as this licensed mug.

Unlike the expensive Disney character sculpted figures, where Disney attests the colors are the same as used in the animation, I doubt this mug was researched as a canon color.

But...

Still is striking how close they are.

And here again are my top two choices, and the homogenized shots of the original:

First choice (the one I used)

Second Choice (slightly lighter, and more green)

If you put the same wear and tear as the original helmet; the red is really mangled on it...so less problems matching it in my book.
Really appreciate the research/effort trying to get as close as possible(y)(y)

Its more "minty" and less "olivey" (those are the technical terms), but am still optimistic that with weathering, it will be fine.

Thank you...!

Yeah the red is a dark red as is, and with some black or deep brown pastel chalk powder ground in, it will look the part.

Same with the green; EVERY little nuance adds to the final product. So even the fact that there will be LESS OF the green when it is done, will tone it down to the eye, even if subconsciously.

But then it will also be dirtied down with black chalk powder as well.

I didn't quite nail the color, but am damn close. Just an RCH of olive in there would have helped...

Kill stripes

Mostly done...

Layering is all off (base green first, then yellow on top of that, then more green brushed on top of the yellow).

But whatever.

It will all blend eventually...
