Black Series Boba Fett Helmet Announced

So I received my helmet order from Amazon here in Germany. I like what I see but on the top the moulded in damage and the scratches are not at the same spot.

Wow... Somehow the dome got twisted in the jig and all the paint got applied, like, thirty degrees off. Same offer I made before -- which no one has claimed yet. My killstripes are a little odd (posted pics a page or two back), but otherwise my dome's perfect. If you want to swap them, I'd be happy to. I'm stripping my helmets to do non-Boba builds. I'd rather take flawed domes from people who want the Boba.

Yeah definitely some QC issues with these.

I was able to get my rangefinder electronics to work partially sometimes, but only one red LED and only for a few seconds. I'll try to mess with it a bit more to see if I can improve it, but if not I think I'll just keep it as is without electronic function.

Confirmation that the prototype version only has a new dome mold, the other pieces will still include all of the molded-in damage. I'm secretly relieved because I was planning on painting up my BS as a prototype and didn't want to do a lot of unnecessary filling work if they were just going to release a better one in a couple of months.

Damn that sucks :( It didn't look so bad in the video though.

Picked mine up yesterday. It's fantastic. My paint job appears to be good, kill strips are horizontal.

The only issue I had was I had to remove the helmet liner to get the helmet to fit my head properly, meaning my eyes looking out the top of the T in the visor and the bottom of the helmet going past my chin. I don't have a Fett costume and I probably won't ever wear this helmet in a cosplay way, so I'm undecided if I'll re-install the helmet liner or keep it out before the helmet goes on the shelf for display.

Mine wouldn't fit because of the adjustable headband, as well. I didn't try to remove it. I'm guessing it just pops into some mounting holes?

The prototype helmet sounds like a lazy cash grab if they're going to leave the battle damage on everything but the dome. That doesn't even make sense.

Hey James Kenobi 1138 ! Did you try adjusting the top strap? The strap pushes up on the right ear side, and then you can adust the pad back to the center of the helmet.

I picked mine up on May The 4th Be With You Day at a Walmart an hour away from where I live. I had to ask where the helmets were, and the lady in the toy isle directed me to an endcap in the middle of the electronics department. I picked out a nice looking box, and took it to the counter. I asked the guy there if we could open it to check for damage. He called out to the lady who'd sent me there "He wants to open it!" "NO! NO OPENING!" she hollered back. I explained that I'd driven an hour to get there and I would buy it if it was O.K., but that there were lots of damaged helmets being reported at the Star Wars Forums. Thankfully he looked over his shoulder to see if the coast was clear, he unlocked the SpiderLock device and whipped out a box cutter and cut the tape and we proceeded to inspect the helmet. I could see through the bag that all the paint was there, was in the correct spots, and wasn't crooked! "I'll take it! Can I pay right here?" And so I did! NO SALE THOUGH! #WhatGivesWalmart?!

I tried it on in the car, and it was sitting high. I couldn't quite see out over the cheek plates so I ditched the idea of wearing it home. Besides, there were local and state cops all over the freeway, and I didn't want the hassel of a ticket for being silly.

I read the directions once I got it home and figured out how to install the battery properly WITHOUT TOOLS and adjusted the top strap to let the helmet sit further down on my head.

I proceeded over to the hall mirror to have a looksee and was overwhelmed with giggles! TOO MUCH FUN! I haven't worn a Boba Fett helmet in 35 years since I outgrew the fiberglass helmet my Dad made me when I was little.

I wish I could claim that we knew about the Super Trooper back then, but the truth is that I outgrew the helmet very quickly and we never got around to painting it. Dad sculpted it more like the toy figure than the movie character, but if we'd made it with the flare at the bottom I probably could have gotten a couple of years out of it. Funny thing is, now that I think about it, that white Boba Fett helmet sitting on my shelf all these years... explains my fondness for the Super Trooper ever since I found out about it a few years ago.

I wish the folks at #Hasbro would have smoothed out the Black Series Super Trooper Helmet, if they'd done it correctly I'd have snapped one up for certain!

Good Luck! to everyone still waiting on their's to come in the mail, to everyone trying to find one in the wild, and especially to all those who haven't gotten a perfect helmet and are trying to exchange it for a good one!

I did, I opened it up as wide as it would go and also let out all the slack in the top strap and when I put it on my eyes were looking at the inside of the mandibles with the top of the T just above my eyes.

Liner out, it fits/seats perfectly except it needs a few foam blocks to hold it tight to my head.

^^ The Fett helmet that your Dad made for you might be the coolest thing I'll see on the internet today. :)
Thanks Scott D !

I still remember the first time I tried it on. There were some sharp lumps inside and Dad had to grind them down to make it more comfortable for me. We never did put any foam or anything in the top, but it was still fun to run around in. At the end I remember tearing my ears off trying to get it on and then back off... just one last time! Finally it wouldn't fit over the crown of my head and I didn't have to worry about my ears anymore. HA! ;)

Here's another cool thing for you to see on the internet today...
Ridire Firean - 1977 - Cardboard RF-4C or X-Wing that Dad made for me.jpg

... now, this was 1977, so was it an X-Wing, or was it a RF-4C ?... I don't remember. When thinking back on it, I've always imagined it as an X-Wing, but I don't remember if I had Star Wars toys in 1977. By Christmas of 1979 I did for certain. One way or the other my cardboard jet was one of my favorite things my Dad made for me!

I had to remove my strap to fit my squash in it.. my nose touches the t visor lol

I love that Fett helmet your dad made!!

Just got an update on mine... it's *finally* in the state of Oregon and is scheduled to be delivered on Monday. Better late than never, I guess?

I feel like we’re just sitting on the curb watching all of the other kids play with their cool new toys. I hear you though... better late, than never.
