Black Series Boba Fett Helmet Announced

Also, not to be a downer, but the shipping plans for these were before COVID-19. So for places that are prioritizing essentials (like Amazon) you could see them shipping a week or two later than planned... Just a thought, I don't know how they are handling a pre-ordered item like this.

Eb games in Australia are also selling them already. Picked one up in store yesterday after seeing it listed as in stock online.

The paint is quite a bit duller/different shade compared to my EFX PCR. But boy the size and shape is actually really close. Can't beat it for the price. To be honest after having it In hand, I'm amazed they aren't double the cost.

 Bit of an update... I also received an email from Best Buy informing me that the release date had been changed from May 1st to May 4th.

Then ten minutes ago, I received an email saying the release date has been changed again to TODAY April 16th, & I'll receive it by May 1st.

IDK... I'll just look for it when I get it.

I checked one of my local Walmart stores as well and they also claimed to not have any. I asked a few people as they all said that they'd never seen the helmets, though they also made it sound like they had them and were out of stock, which I know wasn't the case. None of them were willing to even look it up to see if they had any.

When one of the Black Series lightsabers was released, the inventory website said several of my nearby Walmarts had them in stock. None of them actually did, so I wouldn't waste my time and gas looking for the helmet.

apparently these are showing up at some Walmarts now.

I've worked retail for many years, and honestly that Pic looks like a planogram example that would be sent to store merchandising teams. All major retailers have "model stores" (usually near or in corporate headquarters) where they shoot commercials, train store leadership, and test different product planograms options.
I mean look at all the products around the end cap. When have you ever seen a Walmart with every peg full of product and everything priced?

in August Walmart released reissues of G1 Soundwave and his cassettes
Walmart.com showed them in stock, went to my Walmart nothing on the floor
Spoke the Toy Dept manager and told me those figures were on pallets in the back and would not go out in a few weeks when the whole Toy Dept got A Reset or new stock and changed things around

So, I'm pretty sure helmets "In Stock" are actually in the back of the warehouse and will not go out till the given street date on May 4th.
if you live close to a Walmart, check it out or ask a employee, you might get lucky.
But how things are right now, not sure if calling for toy helmets would get any priority

the closet Walmart to me with "in stock" is about 40mins away, not worth my time and gas if I cant buy the helmet

There are three stores within 12 miles of me that have them in stock according to brickseek. I checked them yesterday, and all of them had 6+ in stock. When I looked a few minutes ago, two of them say they have 3-4 in stock. I’m not sure if this is an indication that they are on the sales floor, but they do seem to be moving a few out the door.

Yesterday evening, I ran by a local Walmart that had inventory listed and there were no helmets available. I also noted, though, the whole display was absent. I figured the merchandise was on-hand for release on the 4th, but being kept held back until then. I tried, because when it comes to all things Boba Fett, I'm impatient. ‍♂️

100% agree with ya

Not directly related but worth noting:
I saw my local target had the exclusive version of The Rise of Skywalker.
Got there and nothing on the shelf.
I asked a guy in electronics and he went in the back for almost a full 30 min. He came back and said "here you go man I had to really dig for it but I know how much it means to us real fans"
He gestured to my shirt. Totally forgot I was wearing my "our universe" punisher style mythosaur skull shirt.
SCORE!
so sometimes it doesnt hurt to ask!

*btw sorry for reposting the image. Thought that was new info. My bad!

I pre-ordered mine through GameStop, because I like being able to make payments up until release. The lockdown has prevented the payments part of that, and I'm hoping they'll open back up on the 4th so I can get it.

I love how eclectic my Mando bucket collection is. I have an old Hasbro Boba Fett helmet that I modded to be more accurately shaped. That's my custom Mando persona v0.5.... I have two Rubies helmets that are also getting refined. Both are for my Fenn Shysa costuming -- one ESB Boba colored for Clone Wars era, one polished nickel for after ROTJ when he was de-facto Mandalore. At least in the old EU. I want this one for my white Supertrooper build. And ultimately I'll be making my v1.0 custom out of stainless steel like the rest of my armor.

I also really hope Hasbro do Din's helmet as an upcoming release. I wouldn't mind Jango, too, but, as with Din, it'd have to be a fresh sculpt. Despite the similarities, Jango's helmet has differently shaped "cheekbones", differently placed right-upper earcap, and is about 5% smaller than Boba's. I'm annoyed the Black Series Stormtroopers didn't stick around longer. I only managed to snag three before the aftermarket price got up over US$100 -- two of them my preferred Amazon-exclusive Shadow Trooper versions (the black plastic is much easier to see what I'm doing when I work on it). I think I'd still like one more, at least. So many projects. Another I hope might come alone is a Phase II Clone Trooper helmet. Just like the Stormtrooper, they could crazy-go-nuts with store-exclusive re-decos based on all the ROTS unit markings. Makes me really wonder why they haven't done any variants of the Luke pilot helmet. There are at least fourteen alternate markings that I know of without even digging into the EU. I ultimately need five, though, whatever deco -- though if they released a Red Leader one, that'd save me a lot of time and effort.

I'm totally jealous you got the shadow trooper helmet from Amazon. I still kick myself for not getting one when they were available for preorder. :( Heh, if I could find one of those for around $100 (or preferably less) I'd find some way to rig up the money to get it. x.x

I pre ordered through Amazon but am worried with it being so popular, I will probably grab one at GS or Walmart if I see one.

Brickseek showed a bunch at a few Wal-Marts by me yesterday and sure enough, they were out. Here’s some comparison pics of it(middle) with the EFX PCR on the left and the MR on the right.

I’m glad people are starting to receive theirs, but it’s a bit irritating that I ordered directly from Hasbro and am having to wait longer than the other distributors... ok, whining over.

For the price point, this helmet looks seriously amazing. I’m floored they were able to get the weathering so close. Is it perfect? No. Is it damn close? I’d say so. Can’t wait to get this thing!
