Bioshock Splicer Mask Finished

I decided last week I was going to build up a fiberglass copy of the splicer mask, while trying to use the papercraft model as a base.

I've never been very good with worklogs, this is the only progress pic I took

This is what I ended up with. I made it more flared out and with less 'wrap around' curve then normal, because I thought looked a little better this way for displaying.

I used regular old 60min epoxy mixed with red food color for the blood. I wanted something that would build up more 3 dimensional then paint and have a slight transparency to it.

that is pretty cool, nice job. i love the game and playing bioshock II right now. it is better than i thought it would be.

Very nice!

As good as or better than the masks given away as a promotion during the Something In The Sea ARG leadup to BioShock 2. Those masks are fetching insane prices on ebay right now, up to $600 each. I'd love to have a splicer mask but can't really see paying that much for one.

Wow, that looks great. Would make great company with the Big Daddy and Little Sister who were at Dragon*Con last fall. :)

Wonderful work. The art of Bioshock is incredible. Hopefully the popularity of BSII will bring it to more peoples attention.

I totally dig it. Has more detail on it than I thought, you did it justice alright. I'm glad to see more Bioshock stuff up on here. The only reason why I hope they get their **** together for a movie is so I can see more of this stuff brought to life.

Nice idea on using epoxy with red food coloring, I may have to write that one down.

If you still have the .PSO for this would you kindly send it to me? I really want to make one but I can't find it anywhere, mediafire removed it from their site because it violated their terms and conditions apparently.
