Anyway looking forward to see update :)

That is going to be a lot of material and a lot of sewing so I wish you the best :)

But are you going to wrap the leatherwork around the outside of the shell or just have it for the underbody suit?

The leather will be wrapped outside the shell yes although I don't know yet what I will strengthen the foam with, I don't think foam coating like ureshell is available in my country so I thought maybe latex paint and a cover of fiberglass resin will do the job and then I can put on the leather but I've got to think about that again. Anyways, all parts that are originally covered with leather, will be covered with leather =)

I had no time to update yesterday but here's the first shot (taken with my phone so not that crisp) of me wearing the shell.
It was quite uncomfortable yesterday but now after hollowing it out properly it just needs padding and it'd good to go =)

Haha yep, a friend of mine said it looks somewhat like a mix of Spongebob Squarepants and Squidward Tentacles :p
It's hard to imagine but it will look good after final carving and detailing and covered in leather

Although it's not Bioshock, this video of an Elite costume from Halo has several ideas I feel you might want to use, like the reverse knee-joint stilts and the overall leg designs, it might be worth a look.
Other than that, you have some solid progress so far, and I can't wait to see how this might work out. Keep in mind The Songbird has a very organic and flowing figure, so you might want to make the body-base you are using a bit more ... for lack of a better word.. "curvy" so that it doesn't just look like a person in a suit. Good luck!

Thanks Psquiddy.
I've taken the basic idea for the legs from this video in fact =)
It's just more layers of foam because we don't have foam that thick here in Austria, it will be a lot curvier for sure, the parts are all in their base form at the moment and will receive a lot more detailing and cutting or adding soft foam to look as close to the original as it can get =)

Maybe to keep it all scale you might consider doing a stilt-technique like in the video? I'm sure it will look better and pay off in the long run.

I thought about stilts but I don't see myself wearing that huge and heavy costume with stilts AND arm extensions AND wings.
I'm too afraid of losing control and balance and when I fall in that thing it might break

Here's some update:

I've carved the leg pieces and added foam to the sides so they're not flat.
I've also started with the feet, I'll cover them in PU foam next week and add details and missing parts (like the claw covering)
Enjoy =)
