bio mask concept

i like the flat black on top of dirty chrome ,....i thought you were gonna leave it like this,....

and i def like what foamies are capable of,.....super light which is the best part,...

Nah the color scheme is going to look kinda rustic, metallic silver, hammered silver and dull black maybe, just going to play with the paints when i get there. I know i am going to do about 3 layers of plastidip (for the primer) to help seal the foamies to the mask.

any updates?

Got a little done last night on the side of the mask.

Just about ready for primer and paint, need to do a little more detail work on the grout joints, i used a soldering iron for the end details...

PLEASE HELP ME!!! I just sprayed plastidip on it for primer and all the little pieces started coming off!!! it is like it had a chemical reaction to the plastidip!!! I used the adhesive back foamies and i dont think the plastip agreed with it, is there anything i could coat over it like glue or something to save this project?

Yes ..modge podge or white glue will provide the barrier needed ..although just the adhesive on those foamies would probably not be great in the long run.

Also ..if using spray plasti-dip ..light coats ...more like a gentle mist ...let dry ..then do again ..remember it is a rubberdized spray ...if over saturated, it will get heavy when drying ...it will make those foamies want to curl right up

Thank you ptgreek, your right too, sprayed a little heavy and they started to curl up, white glue as in the regular elmers?

After watching some videos for modge podge i found that there is like 12 different types, which one should i use?

Omg thanks PT greek, i was able to save the project with the modge podge. I put four thin coats of modge podge, then sprayed a (thin) layer of plastidip. Whew that was a close one!!! There are sooooo many hours of foamies work here, and i almost had a heart attack when they started to peal up.

Well it has been a long road, but it was worth it. Im not much of a painter but im pretty happy with it.

That Bio turned out fantastic Ofak! I love the detail work on the foamies. Cool idea using a soldering iron. You get the same size holse all the time. I just discovered foamies and love articles like this. Can't wait to see what the rest of your armor looks like.
