I hope I can get some help here. I got this Dread Pirate Roberts Sword. (Factory Entertainment) second hand. I am looking for some help cleaning up the hilt. I have tried jewelry polish rags and Chrome polish cotton. Does anybody have any suggestion. I really want to get this cleaned up and looking good.

If the entire hilt is metal, you can use a Dremel with a felt wheel and buffing compound. Hopefully you can determine what kind of metal it is. Tape over the parts you don't want polished twice over. Metal buffing compound kits usually come with three types of colored sticks and are used for different metals or different cutting ratings. The stuff gets all over the place so wear a respirator.

Actually I found a newer can of Never dull and with a little elbow grease the hilt is polishing up just fine. Now its the tip and top of the sheath. I cant tell what kind of metal it is. But I will try the Dremel with felt wheel tomorrow. That might help. Now I just have to figure out the blade it has some rust spots..
