Very true, I got a small mountain of parts in the basement
Made a little bit more progress today after I got cold outside and I couldn’t work on the car anymore. I’ve got the neck all ribbed up and the baseplate laid and the forward gun emplacements done. I figured out a new way to do my armor tiles and I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before. Template the support plate and draw out the armor plates on the new piece and then chop them out. What I have to do though is go buy a couple of more exacto handles and get some narrower blunt, or flat faced chopping blades so I can make accurate cuts straight down. This should make doing the Pegasus, whenever that happens…much easier

if you do not already have one, something like the Chop It or The Chopper might help making repetitive parts

It’s been a couple of weeks since I did a mock up check, it looks pretty good to me but you guys tell me what you think. The crest shield on the back of the spine is kind of sloppy so I’m gonna try to clean it up and if it won’t I’m gonna scrape it off and do it over. I think Shapeways has that particular piece for the resin kit the guy does in South Africa so I may just get that. Anyway here’s where I’m at with it

You know, I always wondered what the show would have been like if they had used model miniatures instead of CG for certain scenes. And this makes me wonder it even more. Can't wait to see the end result. :D

Looks amazing...

I don't know you go about this. I've found that sometimes it's a good idea to walk away from something for a while, other times I need to fix it right away, cuz I know if I don't, I never will.

Either way this is a beast of a build, my hats off to you sir.

Well that’s a tough one, as a model builder I’m sad that nearly all the model makers for movies and tv had to transition to other work but it’s hard to beat the quality of CGI for realism
