Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I had more TDK in mind, and I specifically uses these "" to signify the relativity of the word realistic, it's all relative : is it realistic compared to our world ? Hell no, it's a freaking comic book movie. Is it realistic compared to, say, reeve's era ? Yes it is... The point is they try to show an approach closer to how we, normal beings would react in a world with superheroes, and how those superheroes would fit inside our world... You see it darker, I see it "realistic". We've been through that already, I'm not launching in another pointless debate about opinions. You won't change yours and neither will I. I'd rather see speculations and news about this movie in this thread than those debates that actually bring nothing valuable to this thread.

Yes a man with half his face burnt off in a fire talking and running around is very realistic - especially because it's so dark.

Fear toxin unleashed in a water supply? Yup.

A guy who dresses up as bat with an unwieldy cape? Check.

Batman with new teleporation powers? From prison hole in the ground to Gotham in the blink of an eye. Got it.

I could go on.... but, for the last time: grim and dark is not more realistic.

Must we start with this topic again? THESE ARE SUPERHERO FILMS! By realistic, most people or at least my view on realistic is the belief that although wildly outrageous as some feats may be, and some aspecs are too far out there to actually be real, it is filmed and presented in a way that gives the appearance that some of the story, characters, and places could exsist or actually be happening here in our real world. That is all. Not that fear toxin, an alien world machine, or a any other out of this world element is actually real.

It's not the end when people keep saying these movies are any more realistic than any other comic book movie. Stop being silly.
 
I dont tbh. Ive seen dark knight returns so loved it and now dont want a copy from there in this movie. Around the same age as cavill would be ideally.

VERISIMILITUDE !!!!

The Seventies were a much different place - Less cynical, but there was still plenty going on in "Reeve's Era". It was truly a case of Ying and Yang. The Son of Sam was hitting NY while filming Superman and the Blackout as well, but you had people snorting Cocaiin by the boatloads (as fast as Cuba could ship it). Vietnam ended in 75 and movies like Rocky were smashing records. Kramer vs Kramer was the first realistic look at how nasty divorce can be but Studio 54 was going strong thanks to the release of Saturday Night Fever - which was so hot they re-edited the movie to give it a PG rating so kids could go see it. So, having a subject like a nuke being stopped by a flying man fit in more at that time than today. The era we live in deals with arguing - people argue about everything. Batman being rich probably does something for the character in this day and age -- when rich people and celebrities get away with whatever they want - it's kinda always been this way, just not so out in the open - Fannie May, Enron... Superman the movie is still the one modern filmmakers look back to as the one that started it all by taking the character seriously - that's al thanks to Donner and Mank who took the Newman's screenplay and whipped it into something different.

Next rumor for bats is Jeffrey Dean Morgan, I actually think he makes a pretty good older Batman. I can see Batman in less an action role and more of the "brains" and mentor to Superman.
 
Batman could never be a mentor to Superman - two different views. Batman only mentors little boys in short shorts

I wish he would - not that I'm a fan of Batman Forever or their choice for Robin, but it would have been much cooler to see Keaton taking on an apprentice than it was Val Kilmer.
