Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

My first reaction was deep shock and revulsion But i think that had more to do with the fact that he looks younger than Cavill (is he?) than any judgement on his acting ability, as I don't think I've ever seen a movie of his.
He's the same age as Cavill. (Well, Henry's a couple months older, but they're both 30 years old)
If you haven't seen any of his films, you should check out 'The Social Network'. I think he could easily play a ruthless self-made millionaire with a grudge.

I hope they age him a little. He looks much younger than Supes to me. But I hear he's a great actor, so that's really all that matters. I'm one of the few who really liked MoS despite some moronic crap like Pa dying over a pet. I acknowledge it was uneven, but I really think there was a good movie in there, and it wasn't entirely buried under some of the missteps. My take on Snyder is "ZOMG I loved Watchmen!!!" to "I couldn't finish Sucker Punch and it was one of the dumbest crapfests ever.". Which Snyder will we get for this movie?! Hopefully one who is maturing and reigning in his more tacky, frat boy impulses and gives us something with more quiet dignity and less spasticness.

Well I have started and deleted a few posts already because they got a little longwinded and off-track, but suffice it to say I have a feeling this could be an amazing casting choice. I don't know if I would compare it to Heath Ledger and The Joker, but if done right I think this could be perfectly new and interesting.

My main concern, like someone else mentioned, is Eisenberg's voice and the way he speaks. He will definitely need to alter his voice/speech pattern a bit (please not as horribly as Bale did in the TDK trilogy). Other than that I think this could work out well, especially if I am reading into it correctly and they plan to make him into the Luthor who is more of a behind-the-scenes villain (the manipulative genius, who is basically a sociopath).

Jesse i think is a Very good actor but he is not lex. Bring back spacey. I wish someone would call sandy collora to head this up. His trailer works finest is better then anything they are going to give us as of now

I seem to remember a LOT of negativity when they cast Michael Keaton as Batman... "They cast Mister Mom?" was the big one... However, that turned out pretty well...

Also, Michael Rosenbaum does comedy, and he did a great Luthor.

No, not Spacey... while he's definitely an improvement over Eisenberg, but still not Luthor.

...and I get that folks like the Collora trailer, but I always thought they tried to hard and generally failed miserably. But, still better than this.

Yes, I remember the outcry about Keaton... and I still think that was a bit overblown after the initial announcement and the collective "huh?" The difference here is that Keaton had shown some range and acting skill prior to Batman. Along with Mr. Mom and Beetlejuice he did Clean and Sober and others.

Eisenberg plays the same character in every movie. Same delivery, same inflections, same monotone voice. He's got no screen presence and has shown no chops to pull this off.

Of course, this is all subjective and my opinion. I've seen a number of his films (Social Network, Now You See Me, Zombieland, Adventureland, 30 Minutes...) and everything I've seen him in has him playing a version of the same character...

Should've brought in Dwayne as Lex...

... since he saves every franchise. ;)

To quote Professor Farnsworth... "err...whaaaa?"

You can't have Lex be bigger than Superman... It would be a bigger mistake than casting Megan Fox as Wonder Woman...

Maybe cast him as Mongul or better yet... Lobo... but not Lex...

It's Heath Ledger joker all over again. Mark my words.
With Health Ledge they did a new take on The Joker. With Eisenberg, they are trying to do a new take on Lex Luthor.

I think that this will either work beautifully, like with Heath Ledger, or it will fail spectacularly.

If I never heard Jesse talk before, I'd say they were going for someone similar to Lex from Smallville (on looks alone)... but that voice. NOTHING intimidating or charismatic about it... of course that's just me. I could be wrong.
