Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

But this thread is about a film that is actually happening. You're voicing an opinion about something that is totally off topic from the subject of this thread. Why would you come in here just to derail the conversation about a film that you'd like to see? Why not just start another thread about your fantasy movie?

Because I did.

Ah, I see. You're a troll. Ok, I'll put you on ignore then. Thanks for the heads up. Bye.

Ben Affleck is going to make a way better batman than Bale ever was. I'm totally looking forward to it. Keaton was hated when he was first cast and look how good he ended up being. I'm hoping Afleck learned not to use that voice as Bale did.

All I said it would have been a better match. Bale was already established as Batman and the success of the movie would have been greatly improved. It's too soon to reboot Batman. That's my belief, yes. Are we not allowed to voice opinions now? When I do, I'm called a troll. Not Cool at all.

The point I was trying to make is that we've already heard it over and over and over again before and it's become tiresome to keep hearing it. You're certainly entitled to your opinion and I respect your right to it but it's redundant at this point

Well, I really liked BB, I HATED TDK, based on that I never watched TDKR.

I think that Aflek will do fine as Bats. I know that I am in the minority, but I am a fan of Kilmer as Batman too. If Ben keeps it close to the comic style of Batman, and not the overly brooding, placating bats, he'll do just fine.

New bits are leaking out...

Kevin Smith Has Seen the Batman Suit From Batman vs. Superman | Superhero Hype

Kevin Smith: "I saw the Batman costume. More than that I saw a picture of him (Affleck) in the costume. Now, I don't want to give anything away 'cause that is up to them and stuff, but I am going to say this, I instantly bear hugged him (Snyder). You have not seen this costume in a movie on film before, and for a comic book fan it was mind bending. I was like 'Get out of here, only you have enough power to pull this off.' Because everyone always like does this Matrix/X-Men black armor...It was fantastic. I'm already a flag waver for this movie, but the costume, it blew my mind. I think everyone is just gonna be like 'Holy ****!' It's its own thing, man. It's like we haven't been down this path at all. I was so elated....Even the hardest core “**** all this” person will be like 'alright, I'm ready.'

Apparently Kevin then redacted some comments about the more direct influence(s) of the costume.

Several sites are saying the Snyder confirmed that Luthor will be in the film. ...I remember the statements from the online event and I thought the same thing, but wasn't too sure. (I missed the part where Smith said "that's a spoiler, folks").

Other actors and actresses are being mentioned for Nightwing/Wonder Woman and I heard a rumor the Flash might make an appearance. I think this film is getting too crowed.

One note about the Nightwing rumors I have is if they are actually casting Nightwing, Robin or just Dick Grayson?

while these are all rumours if they should add all these characters then i hope this is like a post credit scene or a very minor role (just to introduce them for later projects) cus y else this will get way too crowded. Heck might aswell, if they would add wonder woman and flash call it "the almost full justice league". As for any sidekick of batman i would only like this in an actual stand alone batman movie and even then i dont really see it as a thing that has to happen.

Really looking forward to seeing the suit tho, so i can get started on it xD

New rumors circulating that black and gray batman suit is in play, or even one looking like Arkham Asylum. Yes please.

Snyder is a fanboy for superman, so introducing other characters like batman, I expect him to do well like he did with Man of Steel. Giving us a modern take on characters, but knowing that fans don't want everything changed or what is needed to keep "most" fans happy.

I wish Kevin Smith was a reliable source for quality but he's been a fan of this movie as soon as it was announced at comic con - then he went into overdrive as soon as Affleck was cast as Batman -

With Snyder - I don't expect anything new or groundbreaking - He's one of those filmmakers who so wants his signature larger than the painting, using techniques and camera movements that Michael Bay does - only thing Michael Bay created that style and does better than Zack. The scene in Man of Steel with the little boy running around with with the cape tied around his neck is straight from the Bay book of Slo Mo Norman Rockwell picture taking.

Warner NEEDS this movie to work - badly. They're having a bad couple of years watching as they sit on known properties not knowing the first thing to do with them while the guys across the street rake in billions with theirs. So instead of taking chances on a straight forward sequel - which Superman needed to establish his supporting cast, they decided to make gumbo and throw Batman in the mix - and just to load those dice a little more they grabbed one of the most popular graphic novels of all time and announce the story will "loosely" follow it. Snyder already did his best with the other most popular graphic novel of all time and I wasn't a fan of what he did with it.

Warner is either trying to make their Avengers before they've earned it - or this is Hail Mary time -- either way

I couldn't agree more with Jet Beetle's statement. I wasn't a fan of Man of Steel, and was hoping for a stand-alone sequel to redeem the franchise. But then again, MoS made a ton of money so what do I know?

Even though I'm pessimistic about this film (I'm in the boat of people that know that there is no way Batman could ever beat Superman), I'll see it. Who knows? Maybe I'll be proved wrong.

Batman Costume In Batman Vs. Superman Looks Like Jim Lee Design | Comicbook.com

Will BATMAN's Costume In BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Be Jim Lee's Blue & Gray Suit?

I don't get the love for Jim Lee - his new 52 designs are pretty lackluster (and Superman's is outright terrible). Fortunately, his Batman isn't too bad at all - fairly traditional.

I had hoped it would've been Dark Knight Returns-ish - but, I guess if we are getting a grey and blue/black Batman costume, it will be close enough. I sounds like they aren't screwing the Batman design up like they the did Superman design.

I nearly fell down when I saw Jim's Superman re-design. Some people say he needs an upgrade in both suit and character, but I'm one who thinks that he shouldn't be changed. All the things that make Superman boring is also what makes him special.

From what I gathered is Kevin Smith said the suit was influenced based off of Jim Lees design. If you guys are familiar with Shawn (Reevzfx), hes been hinting at things through his facebook. He mentioned he knows others that were apart of the costume making and to think of frank miller with the design. He mentioned black and grey and short ears. Also mentioned he will look massive and told someone commenting on the link that seemed a bit skeptical that "when you see it, you'll **** your pants". So maybe we'll be getting something like a Batman Hush style, black and grey suit? Guess just have to wait and see but sounds promising :)

Okay - just for those still stuck on the Batman could beat Superman channel of thought - please take a few seconds to watch this. I posted it sometime before but seems some didn't get a chance to see it -

Terry O'Quinn Rumored to Play Lex Luthor in 'Batman vs. Superman' - The Moviefone Blog

BAM! I submitted this to Warner months ago and I've been saying it since Superman Returns - he would be PERFECT and I could sit in the theater and know at least one character in the film would be worth my 14bucks (who am I kidding - I'll catch this at a Warner screening). Fingers crossed.

I really had my hopes up for Bryan Cranston.

I want the Lex from the animated series/later comics that is a businessman up front and the super-evil genius behind the scenes. Not the up front baddy that we've been getting in every appearance thus far.

I think it was the Byrne reboot that introduced Luthor as the genius/scientist turned businessman. What I saw of Smallville seemed to follow the same basic premise. I didn't read the arc where Luthor ran for office, but I liked the idea of it.
