Batman beyond cowl (first sculpt)

Here is my first attempt at sculpting a batman cowl. I wanted to try the batman beyond version as I haven't really seen any around. I've probably done everything wrong so far but thought I'd share it with you guys anyway and possibly get some advice!

So here it is as my start on the face!

Thank you sir! I've been looking forward to doing one of these for a while so I'm very excited (and nervous) to see how it turns out haha

Thanks guys :) I'll do some more work on it tonight and get some more photos up. It's been tons of fun so far.

Here are some pics after adding more detail and size. You can also see where I've been working (on the couch while watching tv). Shows how new I am to this haha. Sculpting the smaller details has been very hard as I'm only using my fingers. Wouldn't have a clue what kind of tools i should be using or even how to use them so details are quite hard.

I'm really glad that you guys like it!

Chucky: I will be attempting to. I've got a big bag of plaster of plaster of Paris and a litre of liquid latex. I'm super nervous about it though, especially since seeing it almost finished. My worries are either messing up with the plaster and destroying the sculpt or the final mask not fitting. It'd be heartbreaking haha

Harzzle, Just some constructive criticism.. it looks to me like the cheek bones need to be raised up and don't turn the nose upward, it makes Batman look more conceited. Just my opinions only, other than that it is very very good looking work. Keep it up:)

Thanks heaps for the advice! I have felt that the nose hasn't been quite right. I'm itching to finish work so I can get home and try finish this sucker. I'll let you know how I go with your suggestions too! Cheers :)

What are people thinking on the length of the ears?

My original plan was to make them a bit longer than they are now (like they are in the show so maybe about an inch more?) but I like this length and doubt that longer ears will stand up very well, if at all. I even tried them really short (the dark knight returns style) and liked that too so I'm conflicted.

Any ideas?

Keep the ears big and the facial features simple and bold and you should be alright.

Add about an inch, you can always brace the ears from the inside afterward. They won't droop then.
The longer ears look more sleek like the pics above from Nick Daring.

Thanks for the tips guys. Here's what it ended up looking like just before I covered it in plaster. I made the ears longer, tried to lift the cheek bones a bit, and also tried to make the nose more straight rather than upturned like it was.

It's now sitting in my living room looking like a big wad of gum with the plaster all over it. I'm convinced that I've messed up the moulding process and all of this will have been fruitless but we'll soon see I guess.
