Batman Begins info

Hey guys,
Getting ready to buy my parts for the Begins suit .. I'll get everything from one guy .. but I still need to figure our the undersuit and boots .. I figured I'd ask here .. I've seen plenty of threads .. I've been grabbing information here and there for the past couple months!!

Undersuit -- I need this thing to be thin but accurate .. I know it's gonna be hot and all, I came up with a couple sources, but would really like to have more opinions from those who have a suit? I'm 6'3 190lbs athletic build ..

Boots -- Gotham100 boots seem nice .. what are your opinion about it? For the price, is it worth it? What else is out there? I can't really find info and the other thread here that asked of it didn't go anywhere...

BOTB -- Last thing, is it me of the Brotherhood of the Bat forum is unreadable?!? I tried finding info on it, and I feel like all the threads are in the same 3 forums so it's pretty much unsearchable .. why not separate forums by Batman movie?!? I'm really confused and I consider myself quite used to browse forums!

And while I'm at it .. never thought to ask this before but .. anyone as tall as me ever decided to build a Begins suit to wear?!? I'm a little worries the fit will be short or look unproportionnal on me ..

Cheers,
Al

If your going all out on begins suit mite as well get yourself a pair of UD replicas tdk/tdkr boots cost more than Gotham 100s but will last 10x longer.

I can't help on under suits as guy I got mine from doesn't do them anymore.

Thanks kapow7 .. what are the BB Pre Suit Boots @ 219$ on their site? Most pics on the net shows the TDK style boots and not the other ones .. must have missed that one! The TDK ones are the one that looks like the gotham boots.

I'm wondering if it's worth the diff in price .. how often really I'm gonna wear those! Beside Halloween to walk around ..

I've never had Gotham boots but friend who have all said ended up buying Ud boots last longer look spot on to film and a lot nicer to wear

The BB Pre-Suit boots I believe are 89 Keaton style boots. Begins and TDK used essentially the same style of boot.

I've owned both the gotham 100s and the UD replicas boots. Honestly, go for the UD's. They look so much nicer, feel way better, and fit the best.

The gotham 100s are not nearly as comfortable, the leg area is very baggy compared to how it looks in stock pictures, and just doesn't appear made to last like how UD's will.

The UD TDKR boot is the style that you want for a Begins suit.
The UD "begins" boot is actually the batman 89 style. Sounds confusing, but trust me :)

Now, what about the undersuit? Any good suggestions that won't break the bank (more than it already is) ;)

You could go cheap and just get a neoprene black scuba suit and then just glue your armor pieces on there.

Or you could go all out and get a neoprene undersuit that was specifically designed for the batman begins suit. The color is really the key as it needs to match your armor to look like one piece. Kbillan made some awesome suits back in the day, they were a perfect match (black, but looked grey under certain light) to the foam latex (the material they used for the movie) suit. Those used to run around $350-$400.

It really depends on how accurate your armor pieces are.

See pics of my begins suit on display in my collection (scroll down) (the buildup is a page or two before)

Oh and you also need a cape - and coofunkurly (he responded above) made the most accurate ones available... ever...

... and gauntlets... and cape clips... and a belt

Thanks Thomas!
As a FYI, cowl, full armor, clips, belts, gauntlets and gloves are all coming from Kev .. so I'm all good on these! :)

Yeah, I want the undersuit to fit properly!! Keep en coming .. I'd need to check what neoprene suit fits the best!

The proper way to do a Begins under suit is in 2 pieces. That will help getting into and out of it. Can't locate any of my own pics but did find this thread by our very own DAVIDYR1 from way back in 2007. :)

2 Piece Custom Made Neoprene Undersuit..Pics - The SuperHeroHype Forums

This is the basic pattern. If getting one custom made I would recommend zippers in the wrists and ankles. And the crotch for bathroom breaks. ;)
And to best match the matte foam latex look of my armour you want to use the textured neoprene. I've heard it called rubberskin and sharkskin. Do not get smoothskin as it has more of a satin finish. May match other armours but will not match mine nearly as well.

Yes, that's what I was thinking too! I'd have to find that online and order a couple meters .. mmm

Powergyser can probably source the correct neoprene for you. He makes the most accurate begins neoprene gloves

......or you could find someone that has an extra one from the run way back in the day.... perhaps he just has it sitting in his basement completely unused.
