Batgirl in the Style of the Dark Knight Trilogy

Hi Everyone!
I am a HUGE Batgirl fan, and I decided to start making Cosplay for her, but not in the traditional manner. I want to make a Dark Knight Trilogy Style Batgirl Cosplay, and I am struggling with a couple of things.
The Mask: Should I make it a full on cowl like Batman has in the movies, or stick to the comic book style Batgirl Mask? Masks are easier to make than cowls but take away from the effect (I think anyway.)

The Cape: Simply put, Short or Long? AND should I add the yellow to the inside?

I want to include elements of both styles, but still stick to the Dark Knight version closely. The chest piece and arm pads I have from ski racing, which can be modified very easily with spray paint and glue. I also have a pair of Black Combat Boots that I can use as her shoes for now. The padding on the legs just needs to be sown on and I should be ok with that.

If you guys would be willing to add your input it will be considered and probably used, AND it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much!

you could always go with a catwomen-esk style mask. Give it a bat look while still maintaining the femininity of it

You could always try a darker gold for the inside of the cape, similar to how they did for robin in batman forever. It had the elements, just darker colors for the real world translation

I like the idea of using the gold as the lining, but I highly doubt Nolan would have used it. I think he would've done some kind of tactical looking suit with retractable wings.
Can't wait to see your progress.

You should do a cowl with a cut-out at the back/bottom of the skull for hair. Best of both worlds.

And I agree that you indicate the yellow lining with a darker yellow without going so over-the-top lemon yellow.

You should also image search "dc new 52 batgirl." Not for their violet-and-champagne color scheme, but for ideas about armor and ribbed material for the body suit.

I like the character, too, so I hope this works out.

That was going to be my suggestion as well.

If you want to color the inside of the cape, but are worried about the yellow being too bright or not Nolan-y enough, maybe a dark violet or blue?

How about the inside of the cape in a dark, metalic-looking copper color fabric? Maybe with a screened pattern on it.

It might hint at being functional, like it blocks RF signals to avoid detection or something, but still adds color.

I like where this is going, first off I would go with combat functional. Catwoman is more with the voice fighting, whereas bat man would want to be in the fight, so I imagine a full head cowl would want to be used for protection. and as far as the yellow Cape, I would go for that dark rustic Brown trimming look. and as far as the short cape, that would be very functional, unless you went with the squirrel suit that sky divers use, something like that. but that's just my opinion, looking forward to seeing your progress maybe some drawings or something. :)

I saw this and thought it was pretty cool. However I'd make some changes to make it your own.

my friend made a female dark night suit for halloween this year. We never got a great picture but maybe this is helpful. It's all foam glued to black clothing.

how did they glue the foam to the cloth im having to do this soon for a build im doing and im worried about peeling

love your thread mate can i ask how you stuck your parts onto the under suit. im making one and worried about peeling. also did you make the legs on your suit out of vinal ?

I used car upholstery glue to add the vinyl to the under suit. Then since it was a vinyl with a very thin backing to it I just stitched small tacks with a sowing machine for extra reassurance. Specially since the suit was for a 5year old that wanted to play and jump on the jumper.

i mean on your adult batman suit did you use vinyl for the leg details it looks amazing im trying to replicate that kind of feel for my project

My suit is a UD Replica Bat suit. It's made out of leather, That's how I got the idea to make the mini Batsuit out of vinyl and to glue/stitch the armor pieces on the undersuit.
