Gone but not forgotten.
I just finished a Barriss Offee Buckle out of leather for a friend of mine and thought I'd share some pics because I know what a hard time I had finding good reference pics.

Keep in mind, this is Version 2 - the colors are a bit off and a more accurate leather tool needs to be used on the edge. Maybe if I get bored I'll make a version 3.

Anyway, I hope this helps anyone making a Barriss costume.

That's really cool. What are the basics of making a piece like that...has all the black area been stamped down ('scuse my ignorance)?

Hey DrMaul,

First you cut out a piece of leather to the size you need to fit over a Tandy metal buckle, carve the design, then tool in the appropriate design accents (including a background stamp as seen in the darker areas and the border around the whole buckle). Once you finish that it's time to dye and paint. After a few coats of super sheen you're justabout done. To finish it off you need to cut a piece of leather for the back of the buckle (dye and finish it), punch holes along the edge of the border, and hand-stitch it together.

That's the process in a nutshell. Hope that helps.
