I have not done good studio shots of my finished model yet, but there are some from my phone.
UPDATED with nice 35mm photos.

But here are photos of what I've done. Very fun weekend build.

Can't believe the detail for the size.

I drilled out .5mm holes in the engines and ran 0402 SMD LEDs through to light the engines.

For my base, I made a frame from 2mm thick styrene sheets and glued it to a sheet of mirrored plastic.

I then added a power button, a USB power supply to power off of a USB cable, coin cell battery holders, and a switch to switch between battery or USB power.

And a few phone shots of the finished model. Good 35mm shots will follow shortly.

That is really good! The lights look awesome. Hard to tell how small it is until you put it next to the bill. Very cool.

I'm just going to be a bit critical here, I hope I don't hurt your feelings...but why go to all the effort of lighting it if you aren't going to fix that massive seam line between the front and rear of the hull?

Aside from that, it looks great!

Ya know, for some reason, I was honestly thinking there actually was a separation between the front and rear on the actual ship. I then realized there wasn't, only recently, and am planning on fixing that. Otherwise I would've done it from the start.

Wow, I knew it was small, but seeing it with the dollar bill was kind of a shocker. I did not realize it was that small

you've done an excellent job keeping the painting in scale for it

You could always go the route I went with my star destroyer and deathstar, although not as satisfying of course....but tiny little dots of glow in the dark paint. But to get the best results, a blacklight shining on it makes it look best.

Here's my build. After the disappointment with the 1/5000 Destroyer, this was a nice therapeutic quick build and paint. I didn't want to even contemplate lighting it, so kudos to you for taking that extra time to do so. It is, I think the very first styrene SSD kit ever offered at retail, so it was nice to finally get to build one.

Here are some of my good 35mm photos of my kit. With a few composite star field shots as well.

Now we are talking! Well done...and I hope I didn't offend. After all, what good is it if we don't push each other a bit right!
