Bandai AT-ST - FINISHED PHOTOS

Some of you may recall my build thread of the AT-ST from awhile ago, along with some beauty shots of the final paint job.

I finally got around to creating a base for it. So now I guess it's "done" done. At least for now... This was my first attempt at static grass and I'm only moderately happy with how it turned out. But I did learn a lot, so there's that.

The good news is that I used the Bandai base incorporated into this base, so the model isn't permanently affixed. I can easily remove it should I decide to scrap the scenery and give it another try.

I want to do an outdoor natural light shoot eventually... but currently it's 20 degrees and there's snow on the ground. So studio shots will have to do...

This really turned out well- love the base!

You could take advantage of the conditions outside and do a scene from Hoth- Adywan's TESB Revisited added a bunch of the traditional ATSTs to that battle...

Thanks guys! My main nitpick about the grass is that I'd like it to be standing up a little more, instead of as scattered looking. I think the issue is that overall the strands are just a little too long (I cut them myself), so even though the applicator did what it was supposed to in making the strands stand up, as it dried they weighed themselves down. Next time I try it, I will use shorter bits and see if I get better results.

One fun detail I did add to the base, which you can almost make out in the rear facing photo, is that I used one of the walker feet to make a footprint of matted down grass behind it.

Question: Anyone know where I can get some to-scale Stormtroopers for this AT-ST? I'd love to add a few foot soldiers into this diorama...
