Back to the Future museum at Comic Con

Some really great Back To The Future props on display there at SDCC, some things I've not seen for a long time. I see it's not just Desi's collection. There is a bunch of cool stuff there from Pat Renfro's archives too.

It's definitely a very strong showing for BTTF at the ComicCon. It's really cool for the hobby, no matter who is involved.

Yeah I been hoping for years for BTTF to make a presence at Comic Con, glad to see it made it big this year.

I have to echo the positive statements. Desi has done an outstanding job over many years with this piece. He's completely up front about what happened and how it was restored. I gather its being sold later on - that's all one could ask for as a buyer.

I collect models and have had to think through restoring pieces ... you're turning a hunk of junk in many cases back into its original form. Hopefully, using original pieces and always carefully documenting what is what. Its a choice and i support it. Certainly Desi of all people knows exactly what 'screen used' means and what he needs to document about this piece!

My only regret is not attending CC this year to see it in person.

Dude. You gave your opinion. No one here cares about what you're saying. You gave your opinion. We all read it. It's over. You are being rude, and YOU CONTINUE to be rude. Stop. You had your say. It's over. Let it go. Jeeze, can you not let the rest of us enjoy this? Please, just take the high road and hush man.

Yeah, there's one built by Fight Club on the Hot Wheels stand at the Comic Con. I have to say, it's pretty much a flawless replica. Easily the best one I've ever seen.

Saying that though, except for supplying the tires, I've had nothing at all to do with the build of that car, and that's not the reason I'm offering up my opinion on Desi's car. I didn't even know the car existed until a few weeks ago.

Is this idea with this board that someone puts together a replica to sell and we all praise it to the highest, regardless of any flaws?

Some people need thicker skins.

I had only posted my comment in a vain attempt to get this topic back on track.
Obviously, it failed to do so.
It seems that bickering over what constitutes "screen-used" is far more important than what is being displayed at SDCC.

:lol
And this surprises you? This place is like an OCD therapist's wet dream.

Here are a few pics for RPFer's before I even post on my site.

Have a lot of 1080 video too, but it is hard to process on my laptop.

Enjoy.

All of the Comic Con guests who have visited the Profiles booth have said they were "amazed and excited" to have seen such rare props from their favorite Back to the Future films.

Everyone who worked on the museum and set up, did a great job and should be commended. Desi was really into making the fans dream of sitting in the original screen used Delorean a reality. Both he and the other collector who set things up, have an amazing collection of BTTF props, costumes, and art that everyone loved and recognized.

More photos and HD video up soon...

Best shot of the Pepsi Perfect label that I've seen. I'm stoked to see that I had the right metallic silver for the base logo :)

I'm a bit suprised by the gray straw tray though on the Pepsi Perfect. My other references showed blue, so that's how I did my first batch of replicas.

It could be the lighting. They appear to be a faded blue/light grey in these shots.

Thanks for the photos jdraimer!

Nope, it wouldn't be faded as it has probably been displayed indoors and closed for it's exsistance, it's definitely not blue. It's clearly grey. There is no need to over complicate things.

It's probably just the primer they used before the Blue.

Props under glass last :) Anyway, there is some reference besides the ketzer photo for the pop top to be blue, namely the close up hero one used at the McFly house:

I'd go for the Blue, when they painted that bottle they probably just forgot to spray underneath the lid so it remained in primer or some sort of base.
