Back to the Future II 2015 Jacket Build NEW VIDEO JACKET pg 27!!!

Hey Alex still waiting for It to get delivered.the sleeves are suede I think but I rather have that than rubber since I want to wear it.Soon as I cast the latex and paint it up well take it from there.

Re: Back to the Future II 2015 Jacket Build

I just realized I have two panels out in my shed. Guess I should look into using them :lol

yes that would work but the look of the bellow would be depending on the material used. If the material is too flimsy it will not keep the round shape as it should do.

The other part of the sleeve is the flimsy part but the bellow keeps round as you can see in this picture :

If and when i start my jacket I will try to make the jacket on the left instead. It looks to me that its bellow is just a ring with ridges and not really a functional bellow.

A little update on my Latex test :

Did change the color with photoshop and believe this could work:thumbsup
Just need a black wash in between the edges.

I had no idea BatMJ sold everything from replicas of the Guess denim jacket to the radiation suit.

How exactly did you lay the latex and pour it on?

For my test piece i made a little clay wall around the area that I was going to use. Then i just poured a little into it and tipped the light cover from side to side so the latex covered everything.

OK, so what about a thin rubber or EVA that is then coated in something? I see your point about it needing support.

I am going to suggest that those parts are all the same and were all molded. Of course there is a cost in making a multi-part mold for a project like this that would require group participation to share the cost.

My idea was simply a way to achieve this on an individual level. I am all out of fabric here now, or I would have made one out of canvas just to test the idea.

We can def break this project up into sections.

-sleeves
-light cover rubber
-liner
-jacket belt and sleeve cuffs
-electronics and electronics housing
-assembly
-pockets
-pieces for pockets
-arms straps

There's prob a few other areas but there's a basic rundown as I see it.

guys is there an easier method to form the marterial for the light lens instead of latex?

That would probably be some kind of fabric. That would be easier than making an entire jacket from latex. But I have to admit that I have no idea how that would be done. And asking the people who have done it would probably not tell you because they want to keep it secret or give you a vague answer.

I must have visited every craft store and rubber supplier in central Tokyo today and noone had anything close to the material needed for this jacket.

Woah. Excellent photos. I wonder if there are any practical means of having a jacket that inflates.
