Back to the Future Guitars

I think I found the store brettyboy was talking about. They already have a guitar very similar to the bttf one but not quite what people would want in a replica. They do offer customization though. I messaged them to see if they can make an absolute replica of the movie guitar. I'll be back when I receive more information.

$308 shipped. Only 6 days until it goes off sale for $328 though. They use the same pictures that brettyboy posted a little while back.

Hey, that guitar looks pretty nice for the money. I saw in emmas thread that you asked them to do a few changes. One of the minor changes you could ask for would be the silver inlays on the neck of the guitar, the 5th one up, (or down, doesnt matter) should not have a space in the middle, it should be one solid inlay. also, from the screen capture it looks as though the white part of the dial should be gold colored and that it is missing two screws between the bridge and the saddle. The pickups should be gold as well which I think you mentioned. One reviewer on aliexpress received a guitar with a fret inlay in the top fret, I would confirm with them that you wont get that.
Im sure you dont need any more screen captures but these are what I based my opinions on...

I requested a gold plate to replace the white one. Just have to get a confirmation reply to know if I can get it or not. Two things that does bug me though are the vibrato and the position of the neck. The screen used vibrato was a Bigsby B7G. All gold and it had some extra text under the word Bigsby. This included one is clearly some weird knockoff version. I will probably use a gold paint marker on the black areas to at least get a little more accuracy. And I also noticed this guitar's neck is two frets lower on the body than the screen used guitar, pushing everything downward, leaving little space between the bridge and the vibrato. So when the tune o matic bolts are installed it will look a little off.

I'm surprised that none of the Chinese guitar companies on aliexpress have taken advantage of the market for the Bttf Gibson. The one I ordered is already so close to the real thing. A few minor adjustments and it could be perfect. They could call it the 345 McFly or something similar. Since these companies allow customization requests, I think I was able to configure the best guitar with what I was dealt with. I'm not sure if these guitars come already manufactured with the pickups routed out or not, so someone else may be able to request that the neck and pickups be moved up to allow adequate space for the tune o matic bolts.

This is my guitar as of now. I recently requested a white flip switch instead of a black one so I'll see what happens with that. I got them to move the black and white knob in a more accurate place. If I could speak chinese I would ask them to move the tone and volume knobs around slightly to be more accurate to the real guitar, but it would be too hard to explain in English to them as they are not as fluent as most people would like, so I just let it be. I will order black and gold Gibson knobs around when the guitar is shipped.

The original stock guitar had silver pickups and the black and white knob was lower. When I get it I will install some Gibson black and gold tone and volume knobs. And also replace the gold screws with grey and silver ones in their correct places.

You could always use pictures to explain what you want to them. Universally understood. Looking good so far though

What's done is done. It's already shipped. And I doubt they would make me whole new guitar just because the knobs were a little off. Anyway. They weren't able to replace the black switch with a cream white one, so I will just order one. Currently I'm trying to find a gold circle to replace the white one. No luck yet though.

Looking at enough pictures I realize it was indeed cream. I'm also now trying to get an accurate pickguard and bracket. The silver piece coming out of the bottom side of the pickguard. Would anyone know of an accurate bracket for sale? I can't seem to get a clear enough screen cap to decide on one. The pickguard is easy to find. A black 5 layer one. My current guitar just has a solid white outline and the shape is a little off. The screws are also gold so I have to replace them with black ones.

I was able to grab this gold varitone plate today. I contacted an ebay seller that had one of these for sale last year and he just happened to have another one that he didn't put up. I was lucky he was willing to sell it. It's a reproduction but still stupid rare.
