I'd like to see the picture. But it has been widely known as a medium for a long time. MJF is 5'4 and was quite skinny back then. A large would have gone past the jacket and looked too big.

To me, I always thought this photo showed it was a large as I have the medium and 6FT. Seemed way too small to have an image look like this:

The fifth row of stitching only lines up on medium.

He’s also 5’4” so a large would be very large on him and why a medium looks as big as it does.

You’re basing your estimate on vibes, we’re basing it on specific details on the vest, specifically the number and location of the horizontal stitches and they ONLY match up with a medium.

You’re 6’ so your scaling is going to be wildly different and a medium and large will fit you MUCH differently than someone 8 inches shorter than you like MJF.

I’d probably have to put the vest on a 5’4 person then. I have been on the search for a large with the size difference.

With how you made your custom vest I was curious your height too all in all, because I thought you made yourself a large too.

For cosplay purposes yes. The screen used jacket was a size 18 which is around a Small. Making a size medium vest fit perfectly over it.
