Back to Neverland - Robin Williams

That's a great idea.

Is your autograph the photo next to the hat?
I wish there was a way to tell if it's 100% authentic or not!

PSA makes mistakes too. Nobody is perfect.
Maybe testing for skin flakes or hair pieces and DNA testing it? That would be crazy

I've learned what the secretary signatures look like, for sure
but he changed his signature since the 90's early 2000's
His 90's signatures are more detailed and harder to fake
but his most recent signatures for large crowds was a very simple "R" or "R W"

Yes it is! Apparently mine is from the 90's. Someone had a picture sent to him so he could have it signed, looks like it was quite a thing in the 90s.

Hmmm

I'm not sure. Could be his or his secretary?

Sometimes, he would sign through the mail but he had his secretary do it a lot, as well

He changed his signature, over the years, from what I gather.

and did a very simple 'R' signature in large crowds, most recently (2 years and back)

There's a few online that look like they could be that simpler 'R' version.. but.. it's the easiest to fake, too.

So, I'm generally looking for his more "fancy" signatures.

I wonder if PSA tests to see if the ink is at least 2 years old?

Anyywaay, here's a guide I'm working on, for myself and maybe it will help you and others.

It's a very large picture. so you might need to right click and open in a new window and zoom.. to see all the details

I've also been watching videos of him signing and taking freeze frames and enhancing them

(That's towards the bottom of the pic and most are his simple 'R' signatures)

Well mine has a loop in the R, which is why I believe might be genuine x)
What do you think?

It's a bit dishonest if her secretary was signing for him, but according to your picture, she looks like she was making the R different, without the loop.

Gutted :x

:(

Sorry to give you potential bad news, Emma

It looks just like yours but the signature is in a different position on the picture, right?
All the proportions and spacing is the same. It should never be exactly the same like that.

but..
I wouldn't take my word as 100% correct. Just what I'm assuming from my recent research

I look for the "R with loop W" and "R with hook W" versions since they are probably the hardest to fake

Where did you get yours from? Did you pay for it? His genuine signature goes for about $200-$500 depending

I had it before his death, and cost me only $90..

That was the basic price, I think then. Someone bought a signed Hook laser disc, the day he passed, from Hollywood Memorobilia, for $180 and they usually double the price

Here's one I just got for $299

The Ebay seller had a picture with Robin and didn't block his own face. He has good feedback and said to be trustworthy on an Autograph forum I found (Autograph Live).

I also shared it and the guy there who everyone seams to look to for advice (Pete Chuka) said it looked real.
PSA also said it was "Likely genuine" and would pass certification tests.

So I think, at this point, we can only be like 80-90% sure of a Robin Williams signature. Unless people have pictures, video of him signing the EXACT photo

Yeah you're right, even the auto autograph seem to be valuable, not sure why x) It's still look cool I guess, wish I could be 100% sure it was signed by him, but from what you're telling there's a higher chance of being auto ;(

Was the ebay seller "autographhound1"?

Sorry to resurrect this old thread but I didn’t want to make a new one just to post a related project.

I’m going to Disney World shortly and I wanted to Disneybound as the Genie via Robin’s costume from Back to Neverland. Nothing I’ve put together is massively accurate but it’s the spirit of the look. What’s fun about this Disneybound is it’s so wacky but it wouldn’t really stand out as silly in the context of the parks. And unlike most Disneybounds it can be accurate without breaking the rules.

I made the glasses (cheap red sunglasses and a Mickey face pin badge) as the originals are hard to find in good condition or for a reasonable price as this thread shows. I found a reasonable approximation for the shirt on Amazon and sourced a modern Goofy hat on my last trip. Instead of a camera strap I swapped out for a pin lanyard with a Genie lamp.

I have a spare of the glasses still in box if you need them but they were kids size haha!

Looks amazing by the way!! I was surprised to see my thread being bumped, super cool idea!
That‘s awesome. Thanks for the offer! I’ll stick with my homemade version as they fit and I wouldn’t feel awful if they got broke or lost while I’m there.

By the way, I‘d love to see your Back to Neverland collection. The threads so old that most of the the links are dead.

Absolutely wonderful! I love that you found the watch and the correct Thumper. The painting is lovely.

Thank you! The painting was actually painted by a very talented friend of mine and who gifted it to me for my birthday, I might have cried a little.

Excellent watch haha! I am not sure mine is the correct watch either, but that'll do!

I wish I had found the autograph book too but I never came upon it sadly…
