Back to Neverland - Robin Williams

Last I was in there they were still drawing Mushu. Needs to be updated.

Last time I went into that tour I believe they had a short film hosted by Chris Sanders (of LILO & Stitch fame).
I just never go in there anymore :lol
It is just too sad to see the interactive part of the tour that takes part, right where the animation desks used to sit.
The staple that this company was built on.... Gone :(

I think the watch is one of those kids style watches with a plastic cover over a digital watch. I had a couple when I was a kid, around the same time this short was made. It looks like the cover just has a classic straight on Mickey Mouse face on it.

**edit** This is a modern version, but this the style I'm talking about.

@DocNewborn Great singing Alex :) I indeed looked for autograph books, but couldn't find anything :/

@Moviefreak I believe they stopped making cell animation after The Little Mermaid, and just used computer animation (Pixar's fault :p).

@wolfchild59 Yes like a flip up watch. I don't think this is Mickey on it though, the front seems to be completely white, so I can't tell what it could be...

That watch is a mystery. All yellow (probably rubber) band wrist watches were usually Swatch's, but this one has a totally different connection to the watch. The face does seem to have a Mickey or Goofy image on it it seems. Could be an Artisan Watch sold only at Disneyland. Scouring the web as we speak. So far, no luck...

It does seem to have Mickey on it actually!

Do you think it could be this watch but in yellow?

EDIT:

I just found this one with a yellow body:

Body thickness and possible watch face look similar, can't find a yellow-body Mickey version though. Also the band seems wider and thicker in the original.

I am sure the face could be easy to swap from a watch to another.

I found this one though;

Should I buy it? Or do you think it is more likely to be the other Mickey face?

Still seems a bit off, wouldn't it be weird wearing a 10 to 15 year old Disney watch during the filming of the short? I think the watches you found are more mid to end 1970's.
Using that logic, the watch should be a Seiko, Lorus or Bradley, but they didn't really make plastic bodied versions (Lorus did a few, but no yellow version found so far).

We should consider the possibility that it's not even a disney watch, but just a yellow toy watch to match the shirt or something.

Still looking though :)

Well, the outfit he wears could be his own, so maybe it's a watch he acquired in his 10s or 20s when he potentially had a trip in Disneyland. But I agree it could be anything :p! Thanks for helping me out :thumbsup

The thing is, it keeps reminding me of a Casio GShock type watch. I dismissed this thought because it didn't match the timetable, but found out today that they started making those in 1983. Could be something similar to that.

I wouldn't be looking for a specific brand name watch for it. Even today Disney watches available in the parks aren't typically major name brands. And the kids watches especially aren't. It was likely a generic brand, plastic/rubber, flip top, character watch.

I would look into Disneyana sites for more info. The watch sites tend to focus more on the nicer watches, but if it's Disney, there will be info on it on one of the Disneyana sites out there.

Browsed a few Disneyana sites, but there is just too much. Apparently, Disney makes a lot of stuff. Who knew? :)

Just saw this now. Amazing!
Missing Robin lately and I want to do a tribute too.
I made a drawing of genie I'm going to color.
Also, trying to hunt down authentic signatures is hard!
