B4Dw0Lf Build

Don't worry about it. You can always diet off the weight. My husband goes on a power diet two to three weeks before he adorns his Power Ranger costume. Then splurges of sugary goodness after the event. Please don't deny yourself of the pleasure of wearing a costume you've worked so hard on. You should at least wear it once! ;)

Well my aim was to wear this at Scarefest in September so if I begin the diet now I should (fingers crossed) return to my previous weight

Your build is looking great bud, and those actually work really welll for the suit when painted eh? Not bad for $7. So is the painting done on the skin or are you going to add some dark accents? Either way, looks great.

Build is looking great!  Love those feet and shins!  As per your issue with the seams, I used a pair of cuticle scissors to trim up my mask and feet (which I purchased after watching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFO4DDO0ZH4  courtesy of MeanGene83.  I found them at the local walgreens in the "beauty" section.  They're basically super small scissors that have a bit of a curve to the blades.  There are some other huntorials around here that also show great ways to work out those seams.  Hopefully this can help you!

At this point Im not going to do much more to the skin tones.  Like most builds though its probably something that I will do at a later date once I get a little better as a painter.  The feet are absolutely fantastic for this project.  I know a few others have also started using the Lizard King feet for their builds, Im happy I was able to help a few others.  Certainly for someone on a tight budget these are great

Thank you, I see what Ive been doing wrong now... Had I been using the Funky Beats I may have managed to do this right the first time.... Im going to hit Walgreens first then Pandora..... Thanks again

Got the dreads in yesterday and today I put the beads on. Although I didnt have nearly as many beads as I needed so I improvised. I used string and made a few wraps. Personally I think it looks a little tribal which is great. But first...

The Hands

and now the mask

tomorrow I hope to try the suit on, this is basically be the moment I decide if Im going to manage to get to Scarefest or not

I was at a convention recently and there was this lady selling off Shark teeth a mixture of various sizes I figured I had to get some for the costume, I finally got round to making the necklace last night

but then came the moment of truth, my intention was always to try the suit on last night, and so I began attempting to remove the dummy from inside. This was such a task. WOW, latex had obviously seeped through the material of the Mr I costume and has stuck to the Duct tape. Fortunately it comes away pretty easily but you do need to get in there and pull. After about an hour and a half I finally got the whole dummy out of the suit. So then it was time to try it on...

First the legs, not to bad. Then the arms, this is where I heard something I hoped not to hear. Sounded like paper tearing, turns out the but of the suit was for whatever reason no longer stretchy, the second my fat arse got inside the suit it tore. Now luckily I think this is a pretty simple fix Im going to add some stretchy material to the butt section and patch up the damage, BUT the other thing is where the latex shrunk a little (Im going with latex shrinking and not me getting fatter) the back no longer closes. So Im thinking I might have to add some stretchy material to that also and then the zip. Again luckily most of the areas that were damaged get hidden by armour so i think as it is right now, Im making good time for Scarefest

I had my daughter take a quick photo of me in the suit, problem was the light was right above me and the camera couldnt focus so the picture isnt very good quality but you get the idea.

Looking good!  That suit is really coming together!  Sorry to hear about your skin tearing, hope you can get that sorted.

Looks great !! quick noob question, did you make the quills or buy them? And where if you did? Thanks. Love your work and tips . The lizard king feet are a great find too. Cant wait to see more.

The quills are made, I used airdry clay coated in clear plasti-dip.  I'm pretty sure theres hundreds of better ways to do it though

Bummer about the rip.  Hope it will be an easy fix. :(
It looks great though!  So glad you got it on!

I was surprised I got it on, honestly thought that my months of work were gonna turn into a display piece.

Yes the repair is pretty simple, I actually went to Walmart and bought a stretchy Orange tshirt and used that as a sort of elastic for the Butt area. Its covered up anyway with the skirt so Im happy about that. I added the zip last night, probably going to run a few more stitched into it just to make sure it holds as I suspect its going to be under a little strain over the course of the weekend event. I also finished the Gaunlets and the Backpack last night. It really is coming together nicely.

and the backpack

I have a friend who is 3d modelling a gun for me, hopefully the boss will let me print it out and I'll be pretty much done.....for now.

one more thing I NEED to do before I can wear this in public is 'spine armour', something thats going to hide the zip of the Mr I suit.   Thats this weekends project.

Ive seen one persons but couldnt really see many reference pictures.  Does anyone have references to the back armour?
