Hi to all
I was lucky enough to nab one of the fantastic Ultimate Nurachi Urn sets from Azuma recently.
The presentation, packaging, additional extras and of course the quality of the urn itself are second to none. This is the definitive replica of this great little prop.
However, one area that I always intended to revise was the paint deco to the urn. Having looked at the paint finish of Azuma’s earlier urn runs, I felt that these were closer to the actual prop as we see on screen.
The photos available in the Archives and Ultimate Guide books do little to offer accurate reference, with one being very dull in tone and the other bright. In fact I believe it has been backlit for the shot in the Ultimate Guide.
The on screen urn most definitely has hints of red/brown along the top, the lid and the sides. I have taken various screen grabs to follow. Now of course this could be lighting, who knows for sure. Either way I wanted to create a hybrid between Azuma’s earlier urns and what we see on screen.
Let me know what you guys think.
