AVP Backpack from scratch

Vinman, You Rock to take some scrap and make this stuff it's the best feeling in the world.I make r/c model boats and tanks some 6.5feet long from stuff like this but now I can make some Pred armor instead. So keep posting templates and keep up the great work.
Stephen.

Here is the progress in the opposite side.
All those crazy organic multilayered rounded shapes are hard to figure out

All of the pink goo is body filler that turns white when it's ready to sand.

I used multiple layers of it on top of the fins so that when they dry I can use a dremel
and sand paper to form the three dimensional scallop shapes in them.

I am going hard at this weekend and hope to have this thing completed by Sunday.

Inspiring isn't enough. That looks absolutely beautiful. I have to say I didn't think a piece like that could be made decently without sculpting it in clay. You have proven me completely wrong on that. Very very creative. I now have to rethink how I will do my next backpack.

Hey Vin, love the backpack, seriously awesome. I have a question for you though...where do you order your sintra from.
When I do a search I get a few places pop up but would like to know what others have found to be best for ordering, etc.
Thanks...
Mike

This demonstrates that sculpting is not mandatory for prop building and the end result looks superb. All the extremely sharp lines come from not having to smooth out clay and it is a lot faster to build. Sometimes it's better just to make the part as the final product as it saves time buggering about with clay masters, latex/silicone moulds, case moulds and finally cast replicas. Moulds can be made later if you intend selling copies. Wish I had done that when I tackled my Predator project - I would have finished a year ago.
