Avengers Movie SPOILER Thread

But again, seeing as he fights for the Avengers initiative against his "superiors" and plans to use their services again, such a stunt would definitely ensure that he'd have no chance in hell of doing that.

well, they could be thinking they seperate from shield, with black widdow and hawkeye on their team, but those two actually working for shield, and "suggesting" stuff to do :)

in the comics there is lots of stuff like that, mistrust, lies etc. its not that far fetched

Mjolnir is kind of tricky. I mean you could say it becomes heavy because Hulk was unable to lift the hammer, but thor used Mjolnir to pin Loki to the Bifrost and it didn't kill him. I mean if it became immensely heavy, in theory it could of killed Loki since Ashardians arent immortal. Also if it was immensely heavy, it would of sunk into the mud instead of bein held up by the mud pile.

I like to think that the hammer is very heavy, and only someone with superhuman strength could wield it. If the hammer is on the ground, then it cannot be moved by anyone period. If the hammer were to say land somewhere with a sharp angle or drop, it would fall due to gravity until it landed on a flat surface.

Only someone 'Worthy' can lift Mjolnir. It has nothing to do with weight, although it must weigh quite a bit.
It has kind of a magic spell on it.

Exclusive: Joss Whedon and Kevin Feige Explain Origin Of ‘The Avengers’ Post Script | /Film

"In the credits of The Avengers, it’s revealed that Thanos, one of the most powerful and evil villains in the Marvel Universe, was the ultimate mastermind behind Loki’s failed attempt at taking over planet Earth. Thanos was first hinted at in Thor where his Infinity Gauntlet was in the Odin’s Trophy Room (below) and his presence in the Marvel Movie Universe is going to change everything."

This really is the bottomline for me. When I saw that Gauntlet in Thor I was freaking (and geeking out!) My wife made me explain it to her when we were driving home. Now at last we have Thanos revealed... will he make his move in Thor 2 to set the stage for Avengers 2?

It's the perfect set up.

Thanos is too BIG a character to be contained within an earthly story.
He demands a space epic. His villiany has been to such levels as
wiping out all life in the known universe. This is a villian that is not
going to be pacified by a Hulk beatdown on puny planet earth.

That is true, and that makes me nervous. How do you make an Avengers vs Thanos movie?

Well, I didn't think it was possible for the Avengers to be as good as it is, or Mark Ruffalo to instantly become the new definitive Bruce Banner, but those both happened. Maybe they will surprise me again. I hope so!

The Thanos vs Avengers battle like the skrulls will need a trilogy at minimum to be good. Then again Josh has made me a believer. We'll see.

Just after Loki takes over Hawkeye's mind, and before he takes over Selvig, he used the scepter on another guy. Wonder what ever happened to him?

Half. He wiped out half of the life in the universe as an offering to Death to show her his "love" for her. The Infinity Gauntlet would be an interesting concept on the big screen. You would need more Marvel characters, especially the FF, Silver Surfer(Squeee!), Adam Warlock(Squeeeee!) and a properly done Galactus.

If that is the case, then he is right. That said, Disney/Marvel have DEEEEP pockets(Especially after what Avengers is bringing in.) and would likely spend to bring these licenses back...I hope.
