Avengers Movie SPOILER Thread

Half. He wiped out half of the life in the universe as an offering to Death to show her his "love" for her. The Infinity Gauntlet would be an interesting concept on the big screen. You would need more Marvel characters, especially the FF, Silver Surfer(Squeee!), Adam Warlock(Squeeeee!) and a properly done Galactus.

I'm thinking the female Avenger they're teasing for the second movie is going to be Miss Marvel/Warbird. She'd fit nicely into that storyline. :)

Yeah I want Marvel to get back the movie rights to all their characters. But with characters like Spider-Man, X-Men it's not going to happen for another decade or two. As long as these characters make money at the box-office, no studio is going to relinquish those rights no matter what is offered to them.

obviously i meant movie rights :D the only way they will get those characters are either via a shared license agreement, or if 20 century fox doesnt hold up their end of the deal (if i recall they have to make a movie every 5 years or so, or they will loose the rights)

with the spiderman reboot, there will be at least 3 spider man movies coming out (if thefirst one makes enough money) so these rights wont be switching owners soon
and there is also another xmen movie in the works, if i remember correctly.

i agree, with the quality of movies marvel puts out themselves, they should do it with all their characters. but i also wish they would do different character movies, like ms marvel or a good punisher movie

marvel does allready have the rights for punisher and blade back, the only companies still holding marvel rights are 20th century fox and sony. i think daredevil and the fantastic four are soon to be reverted to marvel, as fox doesnt intend to lose more money on them, which leaves only spidey, ghost rider, and the xmen which are still money cows and will take a while to revert(even tho ghost rider 2 was horrible)

The sad thing is there is so much fun cross-marketing that could benefit each title. If the Amazing Spiderman movie included Stark Tower in a scene (just a swing by) or a newspaper with a Fantastic Four headline... just little threads that just wink at the connections.

Sadly studio egos are too big for that sort of cooperation.

Yep shared licensing would be the ideal way to go for now. For some time Josh Trank (director of Chronicle) was in talks to direct the Fantastic Four reboot for Fox, of course he has moved on to direct another movie. Still that means a new FF movie is being developed by Fox and won't be going back to Marvel any time soon either.

Wasp was the first female Avenger, if they're sticking with continuity. Which has worked great so far.

She actually coined the name Avengers.

Yeah I realized that later, but thought, now what nerd is going to catch that? :)

Thanos is just a big romantic. Make the girls go awwwwwww.

yet, there are talks about an ant man movie, and that would also introduce wasp. there is a mystery marvel movie announced (for 2015) with thor 2, cap2, and im3, plus Avengers2 being 4 of the 5 upcoming marvel movies.
i would bet money that its an ant man/wasp movie more than anything else.
scarlet witch being a close second. i dont know why, but she is not involved in FOXes X-Men rights

Not to mention the announced/rumoured Ant Man movie would introduce Pym Particles and set the stage for Janet as the Wasp. She`s a longtime favourite of mine.

But Scarlet Witch is my absolute favourite in the Avengers.

**eye of Sauron is clearly too fast for me!

Yes, I realize that. I'm not saying she won't be in it. I'm saying that if you're going to be introducing a cosmic level villain like Thanos, you need a cosmic level hero(ine) to help fight him, hence my assertion that Miss Marvel/Warbird would be great to introduce. ;)

Especially since others who've been instrumental in stopping him in the past (FF, Silver Surfer) aren't available because the rights belong to another company.

you know that happens, when you are an all seeing eye :D

but everything comics related is my lovechild. i allways wanted to be like these guys in the comics, and therefor i look up every snip i can. i love discussions like this, therefor im pretty fast in responding in this matter :)

thing is, with iron man 3, thor 2 and cap 2, and the mystery movie coming out before avengers 2, there are a crapload of new characters that can be introduced. Nick fury came in iron man 1 (and 2), coulson came in iron man 2 an thor, black widdow was introduced in iron man. hawkeye was briefly introduced in thor. Cap still has Bucky, and its easier bringing someone back from the dead that fell to his death than someone who got exploded. im positive they will bring bucky back at some point.

You never know know what new characters could be introduced in the 4 movies coming before avengers. all is possible.

Just after Loki takes over Hawkeye's mind, and before he takes over Selvig, he used the scepter on another guy. Wonder what ever happened to him?
