Avengers Movie SPOILER Thread

Djimon Hounsou would make a great Black Panther.

How about Idris Elba? I loved him in Luther.

I'd rather see him reprise his role as Heimdall with more screen time. :)

Though that would be cool, not sure how that would pan out since he is already Heimdall in Thor and is set to return for Thor 2.

*looks like firesprite and I were near the same wavelength*

and I just have to say I LOVED how the accomplished Hawkeye's bow and the fact that he is a lefty like me. :)

I could see The Vision in the next one (no pun intended...ok pun intended) and hopefully The Falcon is Captain America 2. Oh and for the villain the Winter Soldier in a Jason Bourne kind of way.

Chris Evans was in the Fantastic 4 before Captain America. Ryan Reynolds is Deadpool, Green Lantern, and Hanible King.

Avoided this thread until I finally saw it, and glad I did.

All kinds of awesome.

OK, whether Coulson is somehow brought back at a later date or not, as far as this film is concerned, I truly believe he is dead.

Actually, trying to put pieces together earlier about what I read regarding Cap and Stark having personality differences, I thought someone else might be sacrificed. The rumors were that Cap derided Stark as self-centered who could never know what it meant to sacrifice or lose a loved one in a war scenario. I thought initially this was invoking Cap losing his best friend Bucky. The rumors continued that only after a sacrifice, Stark realizes Cap's point. I seriously thought the reason RJD pressed for Paltrow in this was because she would be killed during the battle and that would open up Stark to the horrors of war that Cap was describing. And that would be their bond as they unite to defeat the enemy. But... totally wrong obviously.

All the best bits have been digested here, so no need to repeat. Will need to see this again at least once.

Fantastic Four was made by 20th Century Fox
Captain America is Marvel Studios/Disney
Blade is New Line Cinema
Green Lantern is Warner Bros
Wolverine is 20th Century Fox

It is unlikely that Elba would be recast for a different role within the same studio.

And aside from Harry Dean Stanton (awesome) anyone else catch Jenny (Logan's Run) Agutter as the female member of the Council next to Powers Boothe?

Also really loved Rogers slipping Nick Fury a 10 dollar bill.

So much to process with this film. Will probably see it again with my Wonderfest buddies in Louisville after the con.

Anyone care to guess where Avengers will land in overall box office take once it's done? Could it unseat Avatar?

What was the whole line when Tony was questioning Bruce about how he kept calm.

"What's your trick? Yoga, pilaties, a big bag of weed?" :lol

According to IMDB, but they are often wrong...

"You really have got a lid on it, haven't you? What's your secret? Mellow jazz? Bongo drums? Huge bag of weed?"

Yeah, the pilates thing was when Stark was talking to Cap. To be fair though, everything out of Stark's mouth is a smart ass comment, so its easy to get confused.

Saw it for the second time today and this movie did not get old at all. There're just so many little things that make this movie so incredible... Whedon and company just nailed it on so many levels.

Who's going to do a run of Stark's Sabbath T-Shirt?

Given the staggering box office performance, HULK SMASH RECORDS!!! I am left more than a little suspicious about just how much Disney "overplayed" what a loss maker John Carter was for them not a short time ago , looking at the billions in business Marvel Entertainment will be bringing to the table this financial year. Not only the box office reciepts but the merchandising revenues must be looking awesomely healthy at the moment. I guess Joss might be allowed another "Firefly" film at this rate. Couldn't get into a cinema anywhere near me for a second viewing, it was that popular.

Saw it with my son and it was really good. The whole part with Tony at the end I really hoped they didn't use Thor to re-energize him and they didn't disappoint. It started off slow but I like it a whole lot. It seemed more of an Iron Man movie though with Hulk thrown in a bit.
