Thanks guys! But save the jealousy for once I have that scepter completed. Between the LED lit "gem" and it's UV light tint backup, every kid on the block will want one. :lol
Haven't touched the helmet since the other day, been concentrating the many little pieces of the scepter. Getting close, getting close....

Have some scepter pieces sitting in silicone tonight, so taking the opportunity to do a little more work on the helmet.
Got much of the details onto the other side, and began the back. This top half could possibly be in silicone by the end of the weekend!

I now have the top portion of the helmet completed, and it is currently sitting in silicone.
This being my 2nd Loki helmet, I had the hindsight to tweak a few things in the process. I have nice recessed areas for the magnets and such. This is going to rock!

Just a few days away from completing the stubby scepter! Pay no mind to the blades, they're just mock ups, the actual ones were still sitting in silicone. The base was still coated in silicone, and the udder half was on it's way into silicone.
Still need to sculpt up the stone and the little pieces to join the blades and such.

Toby, as always your costumes and props are awesome! I look forward to getting together once my Captain America costume is complete. Plus, we still need to do that Barber/Butcher photo shoot one of these days.

I could very well be pulling my first dome tonight, but am concentrating on finishing the scepter. Most of the molds have been completed on it, and I've already started to pull a few of the pieces.
Hopefully have the scepter completed by the weekend, then start sculpting the lower portion of the helmet.

THIS IS AWESOME.
I do have sort of a noob question though, in regards to the helmet sculpt/pull process. Are you sculpting, then silicone, then fiberglass to a vac form? Or...basically, how do you go from silicone to having a piece to wear?? That part I still don't understand.
I love the leather etching work, by the way. It looks spot on. Can't wait to see more of the scepter!

The silicone mold is used to make the gel coat/fiberglass cast that is the helmet. Not vac forming.
The only time I vac formed anything was in my original Loki Thor movie armor, in which the pieces were done up in bondo & vac formed from there. But even that helmet was done as a sculpt to silicone to fiberglass.

Scepter is nearly completed!
Just pulled the first stubby base & gave it some paint. Waiting on the other molds to set.
Meanwhile, pulled the first dome of the helmet. Currently sculpting the lower jaw portion.
Don't worry, there will be interest threads in the junkyard, as soon as they're ready.
