Avatar: The Last Airbender Superbowl Trailer

the trailer does look good
and apparently appa is hidden somewhere in it, though I haven't spotted him yet

I'm a big fan of TLAB, a great story, however I have to say M. Night's less than stellar past few flick makes me a little nervous. That and trying to cram the story into 1.5 - 2 hrs.

Just from a "looks" standpoint though, it "looks" great!!

Here's hoping!
-B89! :D

Never could get into the cartoon - I always thought the kid looked funny with a big arrow on his head, still looks silly to me in real life but the rest looked pretty cool.
I like M.N.S. films (except Lady in the Water) so it will be interesting to see him do something different. Not sure I will see it at the movies, but will rent the dvd.:thumbsup

I've watched almost the whole show (Kim is a huge fan) and it's good for a kid's cartoon. She said they are doing three movies, because the TV show was three seasons so they're basing each movie off of each season.

I saw Appa for a moment in the trailer! :D

Trilogy huh? Now that males me feel better! I would hate to see such a good story rushed through or cut down to nothing.

Where's Appa? I didn't see him.

Towards the begining just after they show the water tribe holding the lanterns Appa's in the upper left on a hill turning around.

It's going to be a trilogy which will condense the series a bit but there's a fair amount they can cut without really affecting the story.

Aside from Sokka, Katara, and now Appa, I still can't say I care for the look of the characters. Aang looks WAY too serious in every scene and I just can't get past them making the Fire Nation Middle Eastern...WTF! Are they supposed to be an analog for the brown skinned bad guys we face today?

The movie looks a little dimly lit to me. Hopefully there will be some scenes that take place in daytime. I'm still in wait and see mode for this one but I dearly loved the series and really want to like this too.

I think they're just showing the "action" scenes to get the general public who don't know anything about the series into the theatre. If they play up the goofy side too much people won't take it seriously as a dramatic story.

He's in the scene where the Ang is in the middle, looking around, at all the people fighting a fireball is flying towards the right side of the screen from the top center. Appa can be seen at the very beginning of that scene on the far left near the background buildings.

*EDIT* JAck beat me to it >.< :lol

I'm just wondering how much confusion there will be over the name "Avatar".

That's why they're calling it "The last airbender" instead of what they SHOULD be calling it. :rolleyes
