any updates on these printers that can pre cut pep files? or is 3d printers going to take over? I would love to make a costume for my son, but cutting the children sized pep files take forever.
why not just buy a vinyle cutter and load it up with a roll of card stock. the vynle cutter you can adjust the blade to score or cut threw. they can cut upwards to 4 foot sheets
A lot of people use the Silhouette SD and Cameo for pepakura, I don't know why anyone in this thread doubted that, even back in 2012. I've had a Silhouette SD since either 2010 or 2011 and I've printed and cut at least 100 pages between 5 costumes, and I've only replaced the blade twice, for about $10 or $15 every other year. I can print and cut 80 pages in under 3 hours this way. And as far as I have read, cameos are even better.
I printed, cut and assembled my Fett jetpack in a day with my Silhouette Cameo. Forever changed how I do Pepakura that is for sure. The only thing I have had to change so far in my year and a half of using it heavily is the sticky cutting mat that you place the paper on. But other than that the thing is solid gold in my eyes. One of the most important things in my costuming tool arsenal
might try this printer. A bit cheaper than the silhouette, But worried about the thickness of the cardboard. What thickness is generally approved of? I'm all new to this pep stuff.
So I just purchased the cameo 2. I love it. This may sound like a stupid question, but for Papakura, should I use my printer to print out the sheets separately, then feed the sheets into the Cameo? or does the Cameo print AND cut the Pep files?
I just purchased a Silhouette Cameo a few weeks ago. I read that there is a separate piece of software that helps with cutting Pep files but I am unable to locate it. I looked in the Pep Sticky on the forums but did not see mention of the software.
