ATA Stormtrooper helmet, ESB

But very very well made

I think the S*** Vader helmets are very well made, but that doesn't mean they should be welcomed.
If one accepts these trooper helmet recasts with open arms, but then shame people like S***, then that makes that person a hypocrite.
They are both equally recasters.

May I ask what your evidence is for them being recast? I'm not trying to justify myself; the evidence I've read and not seen refuted seems to be that the supplier has legitimate right to the original makers' molds.

I admit, I'm no expert. I'll respectfully bow out of the conversation so as not to derail the thread!

Oh no problem. Check out the FISD for answers. Theres tons of info on the ATA, and its history there.:thumbsup

Right, back to my helmet. I put on 2 coats of a lighter color, and yeah, this was the white I wanted. Slightly milky but still stormtrooper. Next is detail painting and weathering.

Wow, that's nice! I love the weathered, real-life paint and chips look. Can you get a drippy chipped suit 501st approved, or do you need to be happy shiny?

The ATA armor is primarily from CAP molds, CAP recast a TE suit and openly admitted it in public himself, fact.
Some small details are recasts of TE2 parts with permission from TE2.
No supposition here these are words from ATA himself.
So i guess what you have to ask yourself is does getting permission from CAP to recast his armor which is recast itself make ATA armor not recast ?

Honestly, TE2 is in no position to grant 'hobby rights' either because his items are from illegitimate recast lineage.

See this thread post #26 for a more in depth explanation.

NAZGÛL, helmet is coming along very nice:thumbsup, I do enjoy the stages
when you build the helmet together and apply the paint finishes

if you want a more yellow'ish look, you could always paint the helmet
with DIY gloss paint and wait for the gloss to fade over a long time :confused
