Assassin's Creed 2 Full Build WIP (VERY pic heavy)

Hey all, I have been working on the baldric a bit more lately and TD pretty much done... I don't have any pI s yet but I'll try to get sOme up this week.

Also, found a way to dye all the leather black with dye. It's a chemical process using vinegar and steel wool. Apparently when steel is dissolved in vinegar it creates a new acid that permanently bonds with the chemicals used in vegetable tanned leather and makes them a nice even black. No smudges, no rub off on the dye... I did a small test peice this week and it came out very promissing so I'm hoping to have it all dyed black by next week some time!

Also starting work on the weapons!

Starting on the short sword seen more in assassins creed 1 with Altair but it shows up in a few cut scenes for AC2

Wish me luck

I really like your buckle. It's the cleanest buckle sculpt I've ever seen. The pauldron looks excellent thus far, and I'm glad there's an easy way to do black dye. (Just don't mix steel wool with the patina for zinc used on stained glass, especially not in a foam cup.)

Don't worry about your size. The quality of costume you're producing will far outweigh (no pun) any negatives your body might contribute to the final appearance of it. This all looks super awesome.

Hey guys,
Got some progress shots again today!

Weapons!

Got the boot dagger done (need to take one more shot of it completely done with the wire wrap)

I based it on the sword and dagger set for ezio from Museum Replicas with a few tweaks to make it my own.

I also started on the short sword from AC1 and should have it done this week!

And the short sword handle WIP! It has since been baked and I am working on the blade. One ce the blade is done and the handle is attached on both sides I can line up the edges and sand it all evenly

This is just.....insane for a first build!
I've been lurking here a long time, been meaning to sign up (even though the stuff I've made hasn't come close to half the stuff on this site), but this...for this I had to finally join to say I'm impressed, and subscribe for updates (y)D

Seriously awesome work.

Don't worry about not matching body type. I know how you feel - it's what keeps me from doing a Rorschach costume. Until I can lose these 50 or so lbs I've packed on over the last 4 years, I'm just going to research!

Seriously BADASS work. I've been wanting to make Ezio's Armor of Altair costume, and this is some serious inspiration.

Hey guys,
Got some progress shots again!

More weapons!

The boot dagger is done done! Handle wrapped and a sheath is being made tomorrow. I need to get some belts for my leg to stap it on.

Just for reference, here is an image of the actual dagger by Museum Replicas:

I also got a bunch of work done on the short blade over the last couple days!*

I fought so hard with myself about the stars on the blade and I didn't think I wanted to do them (keep in mind during this whole process, I have never used a power tool! Not 1! Even the holes were drilled with drill bits spun between my fingers! I work at an office and let's just say I have a lot of free time right now as I wait for work to come in so my coworkers and management don't care as long as I put my full attention on work when work comes up so it works out nice but I have to e quiet so power tools are a nono... Which has its benefits because I have learned a lot of new methods and skills to complete this work. So I found a way to make the stars... Turns out that the carving/sculpting tool can cut into the white plastic I have been using if I use the side of the triangle blade on the tool and pull it back, it "peeled" a string of plastic of of the top and then I could use the "scoop" end of the tool to widen the grooves:

So without further adieu, here is the progress on the short blade:

Also glue the handle on today and found a tube of epoxy putty at Walmart for less than 5$... It's about 7" long and an inch around stick and I only cut off about a half inch to fill the gap all the way around the handle so I have lots left to use for other projects.

Also you can see the leg belts cut out in the background... Gotta dye em black later when I get the buckles.

Also, the back sheath for the short blade is done and a bit can be seen in these pics but I'll get a full pic up when it's done.

I have never done a run of anything for sale before... Maybe when done, I will look into seeing how much interest there would be and I have no idea what I should price it at cast in resin...

Thanks!

Do you have a link or WIP I can peek at? I love seeing other AC stuff lol!

Hey guys,
Got some more shots!

I have the short blade finished!

I applied some epoxy putty and sanded it smooth, painted it and weathered it quite a bit (it was altair's remember?) I love this paint too. Looks like real metal more of a brushed aluminum look, not chrome, which looks perfect for blades...

Here's some pics

Starting work on the sword today... I'm going with the one from museum replicas to match the dagger... So far I have the drawing made to scale... This weekend I'm going to start cutting the plastic for the blade and hopefully get started on the rapier style hand guard... I want to do the. Made itself last on this one to avoid getting funny looks for making such a large blade at work lol

Hey Panterateama,
Firstly I gotta say, Absolutely awsome work on your Assasins Creed ensemble, Awsome leather work, Scupting, weopons, i'm sooo envious of your abilities, you have some serious talent.
I made an Assasins Creed outfit over a year ago now (Should have some pics on my profile if your interested in checking them out) I'm also planning another Assasins Creed outfit, and your thread has given me a bit more of an insight, so thanks dude :)
Keep up the Awsome work - G

Hey guys and gals, so I need some help...

Im trying to find a decent pattern for the doublet Ezio is wearing... I know I wont find an exact pattern for this one but does anyone have any good pattern for a basic sleeveless doublet with shoulder flares and a bottom that flares out a bit?

Thanks!

Also, working on the sword now so hope to have some progress shots up soon!
