Assassin's Creed 2 Full Build WIP (VERY pic heavy)

Hand stitching your own leather gloves... if that is not dedication to costuming then I don't know!

I would recommend working the cuffs a bit so they are not completely crisp and new-looking. Did you add grease to the glove and not the cuff, or are they made from different kinds of leather? The glove is really shiny while the cuff is dull, which looks a bit strange.

Thx GilliGen!
VelaNoon: yes sadly, they are 2 different types of leather... I didn't have enough of one or the other so I had to make it in 2 parts... The glove itself is a light tan leather from the back of an old sofa so it had a clear coat on it that made it shiny already and then the black dye I used also has a clear sealer in it so it added to the shine... The cuff was already black leather so I didn't use the dye... I think I might go over it with the dye anyway to shine it up and buff it a bit... I have to wear it out a bit to distress it later on the make it softer this is true...

Thanks for the compliments!

Hey guys and gals,

So the glove is done done... Got the lip sewn onto the edge of the palm to make sure the blade doesn't get hung up on it when it pops out! Also added a bit more dye to fill in the cracks and gaps that opened during the stretching... Sadly, the leather I used for the glove itself didn't really absorb the dye, it just kind of painted it since it was already sealed couch leather... Luckily, the rest of the leather parts are all veg tan 10oz cow hide so it sucks it up and soaks in.

Speaking of which, I am dying all the belts and straps. The 3 belt set for the waist and a shoulder strap for the short blade and sword frog that will hang at the waist. So apart from the greaves, the leather is nearly done... I just need to do 1 more coat on the belts and straps and fill in the embossed assassins creed logo with white acrylic and I'm done the belts and straps... Pics should be up before the weekend.

Hope you like it

I recently made a gravity powered hidden blade for my school auction made from pens and cardstock as we had a ten dollar budget and your work on this makes me feel like I did a bad job but mine was pretty easy to make. If I make another ill add it on the rpf.

Hey guys and gals, thanks for the words of encouragement!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, had some other major things come up... I have a business opportunity coming up and I might like to involve the RPF members in the product. I have a completely 3D designed wrist blade ready to be 3d printed and I am really pushing hard on that going to small scale production.

Sadly, that has really cut into the time I have had to work on the costume... so Cons this summer are probably out :(

I'm hoping I can get back to work on the shirt and robes next month, but for now, they are on the backburner...

I'll have more details about the wrist blade up soon and probably create a new interest thread for it and link back here...

Thanks again for all the support everyone!
