Artifact discovery: The long-lost ICONS Hero Pulse Rifle Prototype

W,
here is part of a Q and A
about the building of the Hero pulse rifle from an issue of
icons vault magazine.
Rob K. Examining the interior was also
invaluable because we were able to color match the original military
green paint job on the exterior of the carry/shell housing . The
reference original had been painted black for Aliens 3.

Again, the rifle Icons had was an Alien 3 rifle with a shroud that was NOT USED for Aliens. The gun was stripped of it's original shroud and a vacuform shroud was created for the third film. In other words, the shroud on this rifle never even existed in 1986. I've also held this Pulse Rifle in my hands.

And if "Rob K." is Rob Klein, well, he's a friend and am sure will tell you the screen used rifles from the second film we're definitely not green.

Do you have any other photos besides a screen shot of Frost from the film?

Here's two stills of Frost holding the same rifle in the photo you posted:

And a much larger photo:

Again, :lol, not getting upset at all. We can debate this all weekend. Do you have any photos of a green rifle, or green anything from the second film? Not sure how all the photos produced by everyone but you proves your point. Do you have any photos to prove YOUR point - because it sure looks brown bess to me. Then again, I'm no expert...

See your doing it again why are you using capital letters if your not upset ?
And then saying this like i am no expert when you very well could be.
Sorry but my information is based a lot off a good friend and i would
like to know who told you that was the rifle they used?

Green, not upset at all. I think you're reading a tone into my responses that isn't there - I'll keep my posts in a lower case letters from here on. In fact, here's a photo of kitten to illustrate the spirit of my reply:

That would be 1) Mark, the owner of HCG, 2) Matt, who prototyped the rifle and is posting in this very thread, and 3) the current owner of the rifle who wishes to remain anonymous.

In your earlier posts you said your friend worked on the film and had photos to prove they were green, can we see them?

I can't believe this debate is still ongoing. :lol

I'm sorry Green, I have to agree with everyone else. It has been pretty definitively shown that the pulse rifles in Aliens were brown bess. There is so much info/evidence posted here and on the Aliens Legacy any further dispute is really futile.

With regard to posting pics, the one thing that everyone needs to STOP doing is posting screen caps from the movie itself! The movie is not a valid means of showing accurate color.

lol Good one
Ok I know who matt is and saw your aliens toys site
You make your living off this film or selling things from it,
My point was this person told me his friend who is from the uk was the owner who Hcg got the study pulse rifle from that was used to make their replica line. Now if he was given the wrong info to then i would really like to know . He even had information about what he got as far as being
compensated for the loan of the rifle. This very well could be the same person , I have no idea maybe matt was right the color is ref to as green but its brownish green . Either way it hards to say

Green, while I do have an Aliens related website that features lists and photos of merchandise and props created for the films, there's actually nothing for sale there - at least not by me - the site is just a casual, fun, hobby. I actually make my living doing something else.

Ok sorry I looked quick at it.
Does any of what i said about the owner seem like its the same
person? I would never post anything about names or things between him
and Hcg its their business . I just would like to know for my own
reasons .

lol, posting a photo of Raz and Latta isn't gonna win you a lot of points 'round here.

The rifle Raz is holding is the Icons prototype, NOT a screen used rifle from the film.

its was meant do be funny, I know it was not a screen used piece :cry
I can't win with you lol
I was obsessed with finding that thing years ago
when i saw it in the catalog , that pic was as close as i came .
who is Raz?

Not to fan the fire here, but in addition to the evidence presented in this thread, I've also seen the original (unmodified) Sentry gun. Key parts of that are painted Bess Brown, so I think that's a pretty good indication that all the ALIENS stuff was the same color.
