Arnold's Measurements in Terminator 2

Hi guys

Sorry to hassle, just preparing my Schwarzenegger torso to connect to my T2 bust (DBlank) and I need to know Arnolds measurements (even if approx) during T2.

The torso I have is slim and muscular and I plan to pack him out to a pretty accurate shape.

There is plenty on the web showing Arnies stats during his competition years, but I'm guessing he was way bigger back then. A 57" chest during T2 sounds a bit large to me.

Any info would be great as I'm padding him out tomorrow :thumbsup

Cheers guys!

Steve

During the audio commentary (or in the extras) on the DVD Schwarzeneger mentions at least some of his measurements (to point out that he managed to train back to pretty much the same build he had in the first film).

Nonsense! T1 Arnie was HUGE compared to T2!

To be fair, Arnold was in pretty good shape in T2 - certainly not as big as T1, that's for sure despite his claims, but in great shape nontheless.

His bodybuilding profile shows:

Height: 6'2"
Arms: 22"
Chest: 57"
Waist: 34"
Thighs: 28.5"
Calves: 20"
Off Season Weight: Around 235 lbs.
Competition Weight: Around 260 lbs.

I don't know how applicable these stats are for T2 Arnie, but perhaps they wold be a good starting point (or maybe go with slightly smaller stats).

Thanks guys!

:lol Ouch...that photo hurts my eyes. That was pre T3 wasn't it? That's why there was huge press about the fact he really got back into shape for T3.

Kudos to him for that. Judging by that shot, it was no small thing to do!

I may just go for a 48 - 52 ish inch chest. Somewhere in the middle so he doesn't look MASSIVE or tiny.

On second thought I think I might be remembering commentary/extras for T3, which would mean he claimed to have reattained T2 measurements for the third film. Which is a bit more credible.

Relax on the pic kids, Ive read a few articles saying that photo was a good photoshop job, nothing more. Even after the heart surgery he wasnt that bad off..

The stats for Off-season & competition weights are likely swapped. Bodybuilders ALWAYS weigh less in competition, due to strict dieting.

Actually, there was more than one photo taken of him in that condition:

But as soon as he was able (post heart valve surgery), he began training again, & quickly started showing improvements:

From what I've heard from people who have met him...there's no way he's 6'2"

I have met him twice - I am 5'11' and we looked each other eye to eye- NO WAY he is 6'2"

He does look much better in that post training picture. It is such a part of his "identity" he had to get back in shape.

By the by Tom Cruise is basically a dwarf- no taller that 5' 7"

Rumour had it, some images had been photoshopped to look worse than it was, but I think those are genuine. The guy is 57 and had just had heart surgery so you can't blame him for laying off the weights for a while. It just goes to show he's human, like the rest of us.

Regarding his height, don't forget that people tend to shrink a little with age too.

The guy is 60 now so Iim guessing he's a little shorter than when he was mid twenties.

Kudos to the bloke for pulling back from that condition. If your doc tells you you got heart problems, weights would be the last thing on your mind!

Cheers anyway guys!

Arnold's goal in all his training was always about
appropriate proportioning. He would never let any part
of his trained physique get over big in relation
to the rest - there was always to
be a visual balance with the rest of the body.

Remember - Joe Weider's training taught him to reference ancient sculpture and the work of Da Vinci and Michelangelo!

When he began 'stripping down' his physique from competition size to a more manageable (but still impressive) size he did so in proportion.

My advice to you would be to start with a more realistic chest dimension (I would put his 1990/1991 size at about
a 48" chest) and scale the rest proportioniately from the
competetion measurements.

I have always wondered why there was no more explanation for why the same model of Terminator shrunk
between The Terminator and T2.

I should point out that the 'naked' arrival shots of arnold for T3 used a lot of filtration and there was a fair bit of
digital work done in a combustion suite.
