Army Of Two-Tyson Rios costume for Halloween

Considering all the talent floating around this site, I doubt I can even come close to making an accurate enough costume for the Halloween contest. Regardless, I'll post what I'm working on just for the fun of it. It won't be screen accurate, but I'm working on a Tyson Rios costume from the video game Army of Two.

I bought the raw mask from Jarvis, who makes AWESOME stuff, and painted it with a base coat of black and silver, and then an upper coat of Army Green.

To create the gouge marks on the mask, I simply took a sharp knife and dragged the blade over the areas I wanted. If you don't press too hard, you scratch off the top coat of green and reveal the silver underneath.

For the straps, I took the headband from a construction helmet, which has a terry cloth wrap around it for sweat, and added some nylon straps and a chin cup. I also made the rear head plate out of sheet styrene to hold them all in place.

The top strap has a wider buckle and straps, which connect to the mask.

I bought a load bearing vest from an Airsoft store close to me. It's hard to tell what color to use from the video game stills, since some look green and others look like a grey camo, so I just went with black. I weathered it by wearing it and rubbing up against a stucco wall (kinda' like a bear scratching an itch against a tree) and also used pastel chalks. I used a sanding stone as well on the edges of the pockets to make the edges look a bit more worn.

The sheath is from an actual Kbar knife, but for Halloween I'll just use a plastic knife, which I've trimmed to fit into the sheath. I still need to either cut pieces of wood or buy airsoft M4 magazines to put in the pouches.

This is basically the look I'm going for (on the right), but it'll be my own particular take on it, rather than screen accurate. Since I'm left handed, and my holsters are already set up for that, I'll have to make those adjustments as well.

Very nice! Glad to see another Ao2 fan.
I have both masks and put together quick uniforms for both for Halloween about 2 years ago, now I just use them for paintball, you have no idea how intimidated people get when I show up lol.

I'll update some of the work I've done soon, but just to give you an idea of how the Halloween party went this weekend...
