Aria T'loak Mass Effect WIP (Image heavy!)

Here's one last update before SDCC!

I repainted my head piece, did a dark wash, some dry brushing, and highlights/shadows with my airbrush. Makes the costume look a million times more legit now, so I'm really happy I had the time to do it.

After doing the dark wash and dry brushing, but before airbrushing:

Finished headpiece:

I also got my gun made up; I'm pretty happy the results. Definitely not perfect, but considering a) it was made of foam and b) I've never worked with foam before and c) I've never made a gun before, I'm happy.

One day I'll learn that I need to leave more than 1-2 days for sanding. Derp. Sanding is my downfall. :|

Before weathering:

After weathering:

It doesn't stand up to close inspection, haha. But will look good for pictures!

And here's a picture that Joits Photography got of me at AX a few weeks ago, with my newly painted headpiece.

And now I'm packing for SDCC! If any of you are there on Saturday and see me in costume, come say hi!

Wow! I have never played a Mass Effect game, but I love how accurate you are making this costume. 0_0
Seeing such well thought out craftsmanship puts me to shame. I am stupified, by the work that is going into everything you have completed @_@...

Thank you very much! I really appreciate you saying so. :)

I just realized I forgot to post this here! I did a video of how I do my makeup. (Warning: It's long. Really, really, long)

Some more fun photos with my gun (Courtesy of Joits Photography and Estrada Photography). Eventually I will manage to get some night time shots done; every time I've tried it just hasn't worked out timing wise with me and the photographer.

I came over here after reading your thread about making the headpiece.... and I am truly amazed. Your sewing skills are just as great as your sculpting skills and the finished costume looks absolutely fantastic. Kudos!

wow, and you do everything yourself? Amazing craftsmanship, big kudos

Yeeep. Thank you!

If you keep this up you'll develop biotics :)

Seriously amazing work.
I wish. :behave *lift

You're way too kind! I've defeinitely caught the sculpting bug; I really want to make a Vastra mask (from Doctor Who) for my next sculpting project. Hopefully some time next year!
