Are these Blue Sun shirts licensed?

I doubt it. If they were why would they be on CafePress instead of a site dedicated to Firefly/Serenity? Anything licensed would have the money for a better site.

Not only that, but they'd have better artwork for the Firefly version of the Blue Sun logo (which virtually no one seems to be aware of).

You can bet Fox will be paying them a little e-visit before too long as well.

Do you guys know of a good place to get the licensed ones online?

Everytime I find a site that has em they're all sold out.

I believe Universal Studios owns the property now; they were the studio that produced Serenity, and last year they issued C&D's to many of the vendors who were selling unlicensed Firefly/Serenity products.

Have there EVER been licensed Blue Sun shirts? I've not seen them.

Yes, there are licensed Blue Sun shirts, but they aren't as screen accurate as some of the unlicensed ones. A company called Ripple Junction owns the licenses to make Firefly and Serenity shirts. Many of the fan produced shirt sites have received C&Ds and some are just selling down their existing stock.

I picked mine up at www.bluemoonstuff.com as well. As jheilman says, though, grab them while you can because they could dry up any time.

If you really want a licesned one, you might check out one of the retailers supplied by Ripple Junction, like Stylin Online.

The large majority of licensed Firefly/Serenity shirts I've seen are merely tie-ins to the series rather than replicas of on-screen wardrobe. The fans seem to know better than these companies which products will be more desirable than others.

I have one of these as well. The color of the logo is a little off, but it's a well-made shirt that holds up well to wearing and laundering. I agree, get 'em while they're available.
