Apple TV: Silo

Still working on this model to correct a few inaccuracies, but in the meantime I wanted to experiment with the process of painting and infill with the recessed letters. Happy with the results so far!

Thanks!

For filling in small narrow areas like lettering I start by making sure I have a nice clear coat over the gold metallic. I use a gloss clear acrylic. Then I just smash paint down in the letters and wipe across the surface with a damp towel. The black is flat acrylic so just water to wipe away from the surface.

For the larger areas that get blue paint I’ll use a syringe to fill it in.

I will probably paint and finish a couple of these so PM me if you want to know more.

Becker's Sheriff badge update: The 3D model needed a number of small edits but it is now complete. Added the dimensional zigzag rectangles around the outside of the star shape. Added a rim around the center circle of people. Added better dimension to the top inside and outside banner the has the sheriff lettering. Overall cleanup of the model. Here is a photo of the updated print:

Badge and Lapel Pin from Singapore (eBay). Both all metal. They look great. You can see mine came with a broken pin on the back of the badge. Asking seller for a replacement (UPDATE: Free Replacement on the way).

In season one, Juliette explains the physics of the generator using the exact same spinning top as Cobb uses in Inception. Warner Bros. gave me this promotional replica when the movie launched and I can’t help, but chuckle that it now counts as a Silo prop too.
Is it a coincidence? Did they knowingly use the Inception spinning top?

Also working on credit tokens, so thank you so much for this really excellent photo!
These were posted on Instagram from a show set designer.
I've been using screenshots I captured from Adam Savage's visit to the set (season 2) on Youtube. This gives me some sense of scale; I've been working on the assumption of 32/23mm square for the 20/5 credit pieces, but I'm thinking to bump it up to an even 35/25 respectively.

These are fantastic. I wish I could find some duck Pez dispensers but they've all been snapped up, and the folks on Amazon who are listing this particular style of duck are using it to rope in Silo fans (they don't send you that duck; they send you another model). Ah well. Yours are great!
It's been a busy week. Better make sure I've got all my ducks in a row....
