Re: AOU Iron Man mark 45 suit Progress

That looks great. Can't wait to see everything together!

Small question- With your initial prints before you get to sanding and such, how noticeable is the stepping between the layers on the prints? As far as the pictures show, the surfaces look pretty smooth, but I know white 3d printed pieces can hide stepping decently at times.

Also, if you don't mind me asking- what settings are you using during printing(infill, temp, thickness, etc) to get those clean prints?

Re: AOU Iron Man mark 45 suit Progress

This build looks awesome! I could be wrong or the pictures could be scaled weirdly, but it looks like the biceps and handplates are too big. It may fit you well, but it seems off scale relative to the torso piece. I'm curious if you did it by choice and what your reasoning is behind it?

Hope in 5 years or less 3d printer would be almost the same price as normal printer and also way faster

You have a picture on the first post that shows a hand. I'm talking about the plate on the back of the hand, or as I would call the handplate.

Oh yes i see it.. i an not using the hands off the model Dont like them. i have other hands that are printed a bit bigger so i can use a glove to glue fingers to the hand plate was scaled up a little .5% to fit the glove seems ok to me i will see what it all looks like when biceps are completed

Really nice!

I'm still brainstorming about the boots. Your tip is now seperate, but you won't be able to move your entire foot up and down in an angle. Won't that be a problem?

the boot still performs like a normal shoe-boot i am trying out different ideas i am thinking because the leg is free moving at the top of the leg only connected with strapping at the cod peice.. you can still turn your leg inwards outwards ect just eliminates the shin rubbing against the boot at the bottom in my head it works! if not i will just cut boot from shin and redo it another way thats the thing i love about doing armour trying to do things different :thumbsup
