I want to go with Red Five for the X wing but cant seem to find good ref pics of the original.

Any help would be great.
Thanks!

Hi guys

I can really Recommend the "STAR WARS Chronicles Episode IV, V AND VI/Vehicles" LINK
if you guys haven't seen it yet. It has pics of all the X-wings.

The best collection of pics for any X-Wing I have found is for the RED 3 LINK
Another tip is to look for some of the Studio Scales made by guys here at The RPF...there is a lot of research stuck in to most of those models and darn me if most of them are not close to screen accurate :)

As I am building Rodmart85 (Nexus Models) X-Wing at the moment I can only recommend you to take a look at his website NEXUS MODELS...awesome stuff! and loads of pics.

Cheers Guys.

Thanks.
I have the Chronicles book. Great reference material all around, unfortunately not much in terms of Ted Five. :/

Good stuff.
Keep em coming if you got any more.

I always wondered about the color in the area where yellow stripe breaks.

From the pics it almost looks like exposed metal.

There aren't many out there. Maybe 7 or 8? At most.

From my understanding it was wrecked for ROTJ when they converted it into something else

All that is left of the original Red 5 Hero model is parts of the wings and the aluminum armature that opened the wings. Nothing else is left of it. Not sure if it was canibalized or found in a landfill like the Death Star was.

Such a shame.

Thanks for all the info guys!

Feel free to add more relevant stuff.

Quick question-

The blue stripes on the X Wing canons - is it a single blue line that spirals down the canon or are they simply individual angled stripes?

Thanks.
Figured as much but when i looked at it again i thought they might be angled stripes.

Another question-

Apparently the Bandai kit comes with two different versions of the nose cone, and two versions of the engine exhaust can.
According to the translated instructions version A (of both parts) is for the Luke (red five) version of the X-wing.
I dont have the model on hand yet to examine it, but does anyone know what these differences are?

I want to say that the different parts are for Red 2, it memory serves me correctly. There is also a different droid head. I started building this kit just last night myself. I haven't inspected the nose cones too closely just yet, but I did notice there were two.
